Jonathan pulled me into the bedroom and locked the door, his expression resolute. I couldn't help but admire his strong back; he seemed bigger and more muscular than I remembered. I swallowed nervously, questioning whether I was feeling hot or if the room was just stuffy.

"The kennel place is coming," I mentioned as he started to unbutton my dress. He appeared unfazed, more focused and intrigued. Not even a little bit anxious.

"He'll be here in a few hours. Are you nervous?" he asked. Me? No, that would be silly. We had done this countless times before, more than I could count. The first time was eight months into our relationship, and it had been a bit awkward since I was hesitant to be undressed. But I couldn't keep my clothes on either.

Jonathan had gently persuaded me to remove my dress that first time, speaking to me as if I were a timid animal. Now, it felt just the same. "Okay, don't be nervous. Let's take it slow and get your dress off. Doesn't that sound good?" he said, pulling my dress down. I felt a shiver, even though it wasn't cold. Yes, it sounded good. Very good indeed. I was only wearing the bottom half, so everything else was mostly exposed. It shouldn't have been embarrassing but I couldn't help but blush; it had just been a while since he had seen me, right?

"It's fine. Should we take off the rest?" he asked, kneeling down and doing exactly that. Alright, let's go for it. There is nothing wrong with being naked.

He laid me on the bed, still in his jeans and without a shirt. In no time, he removed his boots and everything else. In no time he was on top of me, skin to skin, chest with chest and he was kissing me. It felt amazing, and there was no reason to feel scared or embarrassed. I might have felt a bit chubby from indulging in too many sweets from a bakery nearby.

"You look so beautiful. I've missed you so much..." he whispered in my ear, kissing my neck and face. It felt wonderful, and I could have let him continue all day. I had no reason to be afraid; he was mine, and I was his. I had forgiven him and didn't want to hold back anymore.

He touched me the way he did best. Fearless, determined, experienced. He knew what I liked. Everything was good, better than good. Unforgettable. I fell asleep on top of him. Don't ask me how I got there. His hand was resting on my hip, the other holding my head close to him. He kept telling me that he loved me, that he wanted to get married, and that he never wanted to be away from me again. I fell asleep with those words, knowing that I would never have to sleep without him again.

I woke up a little startled by the sound of a car outside. It seemed like the sunlight hadn't changed, but Jonathan was no longer by my side. I was feeling nice. More than nice, wonderful, happy, complete.

When I looked to the side, there was a bouquet of daisies next to me and a little note inviting me to go downstairs to see the puppies. I quickly got dressed and went downstairs.

Jonathan was talking with a man who had white hair and a mustache. They both turned to acknowledge me as I walked into the room.

"Sweetheart," Jonathan said with a warm smile and a familiar look. He pulled me close and kissed me, then introduced me to the man who owned the puppies. Shortly after, we were led to a small truck filled with some of the cutest puppies ever. They were a bit older and looked incredibly adorable.

"We have a German Shepherd, a Belgian Malinois, a Rottweiler," he continued listing various breeds. Unsure of which one to pick, I let Jonathan handle the conversation while I played with the puppies. One little brown and black puppy climbed onto my lap, and I found him so adorable that I hugged him tightly.

"This one is fantastic," the kennel owner said. "He's a Malinois. He'll protect you fiercely and is great with children." Jonathan was watching me with the puppy, a big smile on his face. He seemed just as thrilled as I was as if he felt our bond was just as important as I did.
