She was unmoved, she couldn't find a reason why he would say that .Her mind refused to believe what he had just said.

"Marry me. Today." Is it what he said, she asked herself.

"What, what did you say?" she questioned him getting a little perplexed.

"Marry me today," he repeated. She blinked her  eyes rapidly, trying to make sense of what was happening.

"But why today? All of a sudden?I am not getting Sidharth"She asked.

"Because I can’t live with this persistent fear  anymore" his voice was breaking as he said.

"What are you afraid of?" she asked in confusion.

"Ah! Really? You don't know...You don't know how scared I am to lose you?"  He looked at her and said looking hell seriously. She scrunched her nose and looked at hin.she was clueless why would he say so especially when anyways they were supposed to get married soon.

"I can fight anything, Shehnaaz. Anything... But not this.... cannot fight with the fear that one day you might just change your mind. That something might happen or even your own doubts will take you away from me." His voice sounded choked as he said.

"But Sidharth..." She wanted to ask if he didn't believe in her.

"No...just listen to me" he interrupted.

"Say yes to this one thing and then every condition, every decision will be yours.I will do wherever you want."He was a tall, muscular man yet he was shaking when he claimed this and her heart raced wildly as she saw his absolute need for her. She had seen his anger, his passion, his protectiveness. But this version of him was new and impossible to disobey.

"I just need to know that you are solely mine"He said and took her hands in his and gripped them tightly.

"Let's just do it today "His thumb caressed her knuckles as he said.

"Sidharth, this is… I don't understand...why?... What happened?" she was clearly overwhelmed.

"Don't overthink, Shehnaaz. Please,For the past one and a half years, it’s been nothing but dilemmas, fear, and confusion. In all this time, how many times have we come close, only to drift apart again? How many times did it feel like we were finally getting somewhere and then something to happens and push us back to square one?"  He exhaled as he said.

"I don't have the heart to go through this cycle anymore. It has been a vicious loop,We come close, something happens, you pull away and try to distract yourself with other guys and I stay in denial… I can’t do this anymore."  He said.Shehnaaz just stared at him, speechless.

"Why are you saying this…? You don’t trust me?" she finally asked as she needed to hear his answer.

"I trust you but even you don't always know what you are going to do next, right? It’s exciting, but right now… your unpredictability is scaring me."  She hadn’t expected such blunt honesty. His veins were still prominent, his chest was rising and falling heavily and his eyes still looked red, restless as he spoke.

"Do...Do you think I’ll leave you.Aap ko sach main nahin pata what you mean to me?" she whispered. He struggled to find the right words. He was at his lowest, his patience stretched thin and he had no will to sugar coat his words.

"I think you don’t even know what you want, Shehnaaz and that scares the hell out of me. Like yesterday evening, everything was fine. But by night, you suddenly felt things were moving too fast. And let me remind you, just ten days ago, you were the one who asked if we could get married quickly because you didn’t want to shift to your dad’s place." His words hit her hard and left her heartbroken.
