Shehnaaz woke up with the same remorse, same guilt and same repentance and
looked at the time it was 7. She was awake till 4:30AM and was clueless when she slept. She turned her head and looked at Sara, she was still curled on the other pillow, her thumb tucked against her cheek. For a moment, she just watched her breath. Then she reached out and touched her hair, smoothing it back.
Then she went to Arman, kissed his forehead and then looked outside the window and stood there while thinking what follows and then decided to talk to Sara once.
"Sara"she whispered gently.
"Sara.. get up... " She said,Sara stirred and then blinked sleepily.
"Good morning....I am sleepy" she said.
"Ok.. listen,I want to talk to you" she said.
"Do you remember how much you loved staying back at my old house? The one in C Block... Do you remember tumko kitna maza aata tha wahan pe rehne main.. we used to have so much fun... Hai na?" She asked.
Sara rubbed her eyes .
"You liked it there, didn't you?" Shehnaaz tried to keep her voice light, as if this were just a normal conversation.
"Would you like to live there again?" Shehnaaz asked.Sara looked confused, her little brow furrowed.
"But...why...we can't stay here?"she asy
"I thought...maybe we could move there You, me, and Arman...maze karenge." she said.
"Where will Sidharth stay?"The child slowly sat up and asked,Shehnaaz tried to keep her face composed, even as her anticipated fear twisted inside her.She had feared this the kids would grow attached to him. It was impossible not to love him, and now she was watching that fear come to life.
"He will stay ...in D Block. Very close. You can see him anytime." She said.Sara shook her head immediately.
"No. I want to stay where Sidharth will stay" she said , Shehnaaz's heart thumped hard. She tried again.
"But if we live there, you'll have your own room. And a big balcony, remember..
There was a huge jhula? Sidharth will still visit us. He will be five minutes away."she tried again.
"But... husband and wife stay together after getting married... They even share the same room..." She said innocently.
"Haan toh...we will stay nearby na..just one block apart." Shehnaaz said.
"No," Sara said again with more certainty this time. She slid off the pillow and put her hand on Shehnaaz's arm as if that settled it.
"I will stay where Sidharth will stay... And you are his wife so you will also stay where Sidharth will stay..." Shehnaaz closed , fighting the hopelessness curling up her spine.
"Sara... there you will have to share your room with Arman" she again said. The child looked up at her with her stubborn face.
"I don't want a separate room...I want Sidharth and You." She said and now Shehnaaz had no idea what to say.
"He will still be near..."she whispered and the words sounded useless even to her own ears
"I will stay with him and you in the same house,if we are going to your house at c block then I am going to request him to shift with us there." she said and was about to leave the room when Shehnaaz stopped her.
"No.. not now..go brush your teeth and breakfast karne neeche aao..kal se school Jana hai" she said and turned her face away so Sara wouldn't see her panicked face.Helpless, was the only word for it.
Meanwhile Sidharth was sitting on the bed while his phone was in his palm. He had opened the same report more then 10 times but couldn't read beyond the heading. His mind was in the kids room, thinking if she was awake.
