Brad has spent ages searching for a job, and now he has one. My mum had given his cv into a partnering company and they’ve given the job as part time runner, he basically has to do everything for whoever he’s assigned to. Brad was so proud of himself. Today Rosie, Ollie and Brad we’re coming over to help me and my mum paint the baby’s room.

“Hey Rosie did you bring your plaid shirt you don’t like?” I shout from the now baby’s room,

“Of course, I hate this thing” Rosie replies strutting in in a beautiful multi coloured plaid shirt,

“Oh no you don’t, I like that. Take that thing off and grab one of old big tops” I say almost ripping the shirt off of her back,

“Ok” Rosie replies,

I fold up the shirt and put it in my room, I wasn’t going to let her ruin this.

“Oh and because I’m keeping your shirt you can have one of mine” I say,

“Ok, seems like a fair trade” Rosie replies,

I hear the door knock and Ollie was casually standing in the door way dressed in dungarees.

“Ollie you’re a legend” I say opening the door wider to let him in

“Thanks so are you” Ollie replies,

We go upstairs and wait for Brad to arrive, mum and Rosie was already making a start on putting the sheets down. The doorbell rings countless times and Rosie goes downstairs to open the door,

“Caggs come here please” Rosie shouts,

Ollie helps me up off of my knees and I go downstairs,

“What’s wrong?” I ask looking at Brad,

“Sorry, I can’t stay. Work called and one of the runners is sick so I have to cover, I promise when it comes to doing our baby’s room I’ll make sure I’m free” Brad says,

“Aw, ok its fine. I’ll just make you pay later” I reply,

Brad then leans in to give me a kiss and I pull away,

“I’m sorry Caggie, I’ll make it up to you” Brad says,

“Yeah whatever, just go do your job” I reply.

I leave Rosie to see Brad out and then go and join mum who was now putting tape on the skirting, Ollie was tipping paint into a tray and Rosie was already on her way upstairs.

“Right it’s all done so let’s get painting” Mum says grabbing a roller, we all grab one and start a wall each.

We were all finished painting by 4 in the afternoon and everyone left me to do the edges, because I was the most artistic one here. The room wasn’t even finished yet, mum had bribed me with new paints to paint butterflies on the bare pink walls. Mum had already had the room planned out, and to be honest I already have mine planned out. We we’re both so excited.

“Cagg’s tomorrow we can get started on the butterflies, if you draw them then you can rope one of your arty friends to help you” Mum says as I begin painting the skirting white,

“No, I’ll do it myself. Then it’ll look nice because it won’t be different techniques, mum you have more than three months yet to finish this off. I promise you, it’ll be nice” I reply,

“Ok fine, you’re the one who knows what they’re doing so I’ll just leave you to it” Mum says going back downstairs, Ollie and Rosie we’re staying for dinner and if my mum lets me we were going to go out for coffee.

A few hours passed and Dinner was ready, we ate it upstairs in my room whilst I got changed.

“your maid can cook” Ollie says,
