I reached for the remote on the armrest of the sofa and reclined in the chair next to it. It was a Saturday morning and I was bored out of my mind. Usually Kyrielle and I would be out shopping somewhere, but she was laying up in Barbados with Nique. And with the shop's newly found success, Sky was hardly ever home. He was leaving earlier and staying later and I just thought that was ridiculous.
But I didn't want to complain too much because his hard work did pay off. We were keeping up with all the bills and I even got to redecorate the house. And with whatever was left, he took a little to put in his savings account and gave me the rest. In just a few days I've already saved up a little over a G. That was just how well the shop had been doing. So for that I had to cut him a little slack.
However, at one point, I was pissed off about it. Because the more hours he spent at the shop, the more time he spent with Roxie's trifling ass. But then that bitch went on maternity leave so I didn't have to worry about that anymore. The only thing I had left to worry about was that I couldn't get me some on the regular anymore.
I flipped through a few channels before realizing there was nothing on TV. I turned off the set and grabbed the cordless phone off the coffee table on my way to the bedroom. I plopped down on the bed and hit the button to speed dial Kyrielle's cell.
"What's up ma?" Nique's sexy baritone caught me off guard.
"Hey Nique!" I sang into the receiver. "Y'all having fun out there?"
"Yeah! Kyrielle's been asking me to take her on a vacation and you know we had to do it big li'l mama."
"Oh cool," I said sounding like a nerd.
He chuckled. "You should have come with us."
"Oh, Ri asked me, but I didn't want to impose."
"No you would've been straight. I would've had a chance to see you in a bikini." His smile reached through the phone.
Is he flirting with me?
"You're crazy boy!" I laughed the comment off.
"Girl, why he crazy?" Kyrielle's loud mouth ass yelled into the phone.
"Nique and I were just talking about how much fun y'all are having on y'all li'l 'pre-wedding honeymoon'."
"Oh yeah bitch! I'ma tell everybody at the salon that my man took me all the way to Barbados!" She bragged.
"Anyways, where's my baby?" I moved on to the next subject because I wasn't trying to hear that bitch brag!
"He's with his grandma."
"You just met that lady and you have her watching my godson already?"
"Don't trip. I been knowing her for a minute now."
"How long?"
"We been talking on the phone for about three weeks straight and I been at her house a few times. I see how she treats Tyree and I can tell that she loves him."
"Bitch you're really crazy, you know that right? You've only been talking to that lady for a damn month and you think you know her?"
"What you mean? That's my flesh and blood!" I could hear the irritation in her voice.
"The same flesh and blood that gave you up and had you staying in foster care?" She didn't respond so I added, "I mean, I'm just saying... You don't know what this woman's intentions are or if she can handle taking care of Tyree. You should get to know her better first. You can't be trusting people, especially..."
