"What's up li'l man," Sky said throwing Tyree up and catching him in midair.
"Give him here before you be late." I took Tyree out of Sky's arms and sat him on the floor next to the bed. His pile of toys kept him preoccupied as I grabbed my laptop off of the nightstand and took a seat on the bed.
"I don't think I'm going to the shop today Phat. I'ma stay here and chill with you and Man.
Shit, I need a day off."
"Good, you can help me watch him while I do my homework then."
"You can't just do that shit later?"
"No I cannot. I've got two papers due by Thursday and I'm trying to get them out of the way now," I said pecking away on the keyboard as Sky sat behind me.
"You can do that shit when we get back though."
"And where are we going?"
"I don't know Jay. We can take Tyree to the park and grab a bite to eat from somewhere. Or maybe we could stay home, order a pizza and catch up on our love life," he stated, pulling at the neck of my sweater to kiss my bare shoulder.
"You know what? You really play too much boy," I told him as he kissed his way up my neck. "And you know that's my spot."
"And?"
"And you see I'm trying to get this work done, and Tyree's in here anyways."
Sky leaned over to slam the laptop closed. "Just let him chill in here and we can go in the living room."
"You're so damn nasty Sky," I said with a smile.
"I could be, if you let me." With his lips still on my neck, he began rubbing my shoulders.
"Alright then, but if you're really serious about not going to work, who's going to run the shop? You're too scared to let Disco or Juju handle anything."
"I'ma hit Roxie up and tell her to hold shit down and I'll probably swing by about an hour or two before closing time to make sure everything's straight."
"Are you serious?" I turned around to face him.
"What you tripping over Phat? You always talking about how I'm never home and shit. Now I'm trying to make time and now you're bitching about it."
"No, that's not the issue. You know how much I've been begging for you to spend more time with me."
"What is it then Jasmine? Fill a nigga in."
"It's just crazy to me how you can't rely on anybody when it comes to your business, but you can trust Roxie. You've known Disco and them since forever and she's only been working with you for a few months. Wait, isn't she on maternity leave anyways?" This nigga must think I'm stupid!
"Don't come at me with that fuckin' bullshit Jasmine. First off, the only thing them niggas know how to do is cut hair. And as for ol' girl, she's been back for about a week or two now. So you need to know what the fuck you're talking about before you open your big ass mouth."
"So, Sky! What, you think you've proved something? I don't give a fuck if the bitch been back for a fucking month! The point is, you barely know her!"
"What is your problem with Roxie? Any time I mention her name you start flipping out and shit."
"I don't have a fucking problem Sky. It's just the principal."
