"Damn Khandi, is the whole city in here?"

"I told you it was going up tonight and on a Friday at that! Ace always does it big for the dudes on his team."

"Girl, I picked the wrong night to start. This is too much!" I yelled as we left the locker room, practically fighting our way through the crowd clutching onto trays of little vials filled with alcohol. "And I thought I was supposed to be dancing, not passing out some damn shots."

"Calm down, we are just doing this for Nique's party. I guess Ace figured, since the club was going to be so packed, to just have all us down here and have the VIP area off limits. And I think one of the girls came up with the idea to have all us dressed up in these little French maid costumes."

"And they look so tacky."

"I think they're cute."

"That's because this the type of shit you wear anyways."

"Whatever, just keep moving." I felt her hand land on my exposed back.

"I can't deal!" I said, trying to maneuver through the mob of men.

"Girl stop complaining, this is just your first night! You're not ready for the stage anyways."

"But I rather be on stage then to be squeezing through this packed ass club all night."

"See you're tripping because I live for nights like these. These men be treating me like royalty. Ace is gonna have to change the name of this bitch to 'The Queen of Spades' how I'm about to work these niggas!"

"You're not about to work anything just walking around and handing out drinks to some thirsty ass fools all night!"

"That's what you think? Fool, how are you going to make money just selling shots? It's only a thirty-dollar commission off of each tray you sell. Ace don't pay by the hour boo!"

"Okay, so what else do we have to do then?"

Handing me her tray, she told me, "Watch me work", then walked up to some random dude and proceeded to give him a little strip tease.

Usher was singing, "Shorty I don't mind...", as Khandi used the man's shoulders for leverage to jump as high as she could then landed in a split. Now a small circle was beginning to form around her as she did her signature move, showing off her flexibility, bouncing up and down while still in the split and began twerking. Losing herself in the music, Khandi was giving her spectators the "VIP special".

By the time Khandi had finished, there was a nice sized pile of cash lying beside her.

"That's what we've got to do," she huffed in fatigue as she collected her earnings off of the floor.

"You need help?" I asked her.

"Yeah go get me one of them baskets from out the back."

"Alright," I said parting through the crowd.

On my way back to Khandi, her plastic basket in hand, I heard someone call out "Baby Girl" and when I looked back I saw him standing there.

"Happy birthday!" I sang, throwing my arms around his neck.

"Thank you baby," he said into my ear, holding on to my waist. The pungent aroma of Ciroc on his breath was enough to suffocate me when he added, "So you work for Ace now?"
