The next day, out of the blue, Kyrielle just up and called me, telling me that she wanted me to stop by and chill with her at the crib, like we were still cool or something. I hadn't talked to or seen that bitch much since Nique and I started messing around and that was what, like seven or eight months ago? At first I started to curse her ass out and tell her to lose my number, but then I thought about it; this could be the perfect chance to get into that bitch's head. If I could just conjure up a way to get Kyrielle to break up with Nique, I wouldn't have to share him anymore. He would be all mine.

When I got over there I saw her waiting on the porch swing like an ol' maw-maw sipping on a glass of iced tea.

"What's up girl?!" She hollered from the porch.

"Hey Ri." I sat on the swing next to her.

"I ain't seen you in so fucking long. I've been busy chilling with Cookie all the damn time. Me and that thang are so close it's more like we're sisters rather than mother and daughter. You've got to meet her though, Jay. She's so laid back."

"Yeah." I feigned a smile.

"Anyways bitch, I wanted to tell you what the fuck I saw when I was at the mall!" She squealed with excitement.

"What?" I gave her a puzzled look.

"Bitch Sky! And guess who the fuck he was with?" She didn't even give me enough time to answer. She took a five-second pause then blurted out, "Roxie! And them motherfuckers was hugged up and everything! I saw them yesterday at the grocery store. She had her twins in this cute li'l stroller and Sky was pushing that bitch while she was grabbing all kinds of shit off the shelves and stuffing it in her shopping cart. They really looked like a happy li'l family girl."

"Oh girl." I waved her off. "I'm not tripping off of that broke fool anymore. That thot ass trick can have him. Shit, they deserve each other." I should have known, the bitch only called me over to start some mess!

"Oh okay. I just thought I'd let you know."

"I'm not surprised by that though. I told you Roxie's been trying her hardest to get at Sky and I bet the minute she heard we were through she was all up in his face." I had to admit, the news did hurt a little, but I was happy to hear that Sky was okay. Plus Kyrielle wasn't about to catch me in my feelings!

"Mm hmm, so anyways, how the apartment thing going? You and yo' roommate be getting along?" Kyrielle referred to the lie I told her about me moving in with one of the co-workers at my imaginary job at a local grocery store.

"Yeah, she's cool. We don't have any problems with each other. She does her thing and I do mine."

"Y'all don't be having any trouble with the rent? I know those cashier jobs don't really pay much." She actually sounded like she was genuinely concerned.

"True, but we get by."

"Well you know if you ever need anything..."

"Thank you Ri, but I've got this. I'm trying to make it on my own now. No more handouts."

Nosey ass!

"I don't know why you moved out anyways Heifer! You know my house is your house."

"Mm hmm, yeah I know."

"She's still riding good?" Kyrielle pointed to my car that was parked across her driveway.

"Yeah it's still holding up."

"I told Nique you would need a car. It didn't make any sense in you catching the bus if we had a car that neither of us even drove. It was just sitting in the garage collecting dust!"
