"Bandz a make her dance..."

"Hello," I waspishly answered my phone. The sound of Juicy J's voice stirred me from the most peaceful sleep I've gotten in weeks.

"Yeah, where are you?"

"Where do you think I am? I'm at home trying to sleep!

"Didn't I tell you to be ready?"

"Be ready, for what girl?" I was baffled.

"So you're going to tell me that you don't remember me specifically telling you to be ready whenever I call."

"That was two days ago!"

"I don't care if it was a week ago, now get your tired ass up! It's time."

"Time for what? What are you talking about?"

"What do you think? It's time to get this money. It's Nique's party and they've got this bitch going up."

"Oh, it is Friday huh? What time did it start?"

"It started at nine, but it wasn't really popping until ten. That's when he got there."

"That sounds like him too, late to his own party."

Laughing, she said, "I know right!"

"Well I'm sorry to tell you... I can't come."

"Why? You don't have to worry about auditioning or anything. I talked to Ace and he's down."

Whispering I told her, "No I can't come because it's one in the fucking morning and Sky is home! Why didn't you call me sooner you dummy?"

"Well I wasn't sure if you'd be ready for a crowd like this, but then I figured this'll be the perfect time!"

"Well I don't know what to tell you because like I said, Sky is here sleeping right next to me.

"Okay well," she paused to think, "just tell him I had an emergency or something."

"What kind of emergency though?"

"I don't know, tell him I'm in the hospital or something."

"I'm not waking that boy up to tell him no foolishness like that Khandi."

"Well shit if he's sleeping then just sneak your ass out of bed and come on!"

"No girl, Sky sleeps light. He's going to wake up. What's up for tomorrow night though?"

"Fuck tomorrow night! You need to stop being so damn scary and come on. You're wasting time and I'm already waiting outside. You were talking all that big girl shit the other day, but now you want to play pussy."

"Whatever trick! Are you really outside?"

"Yes, I called as soon as I pulled up! Now come the fuck on. You got me missing out on my money bitch."

I took few seconds to look over my shoulder at Sky as he rested next to me. "What if he wakes up though?"

"Look, I don't have time for this..."

"Ugh, alright I'm coming," I interrupted then ended the call before her smart ass could say anything else.

After taking one more look at Sky, I slowly removed his hand from around my waist, trying my hardest not to wake him, and eased my way out of bed.

Right when I made it to the bathroom I heard Sky holler, "Ma!"

Pretending like I didn't hear anything, I slowly closed the door behind me and turned on the light.

"Ma!" he repeated.

Shit!

"Huh?" I said through the door. When I didn't hear anything, I opened the door and peaked my head out to see him in the bed with the cover over his head. "What do you want baby?"

I waited a few seconds to see if he would respond, but when he didn't, I quickly slid on some tennis and grabbed a pair of jeans then hauled ass down the stairs.

"Hush girl," I told Sasha before heading out the door.

"About damn time," Khandi said to me when I hopped in the back seat of her car.

"You're playing, but I was about to call back and tell you never mind," I said while unbuttoning my shirt.

"After waiting for your ass for damn near fifteen minutes, I would've came in there and dragged your ass out myself," she said while reversing onto the street.

"Whatever, I'm here now."

"Are you ready to get this money?"

"I'm nervous as hell, but yeah I'm ready."

"Wait girl what are you doing?" Khandi was checking me out through the rearview mirror.

"Putting my clothes on. I was going to change inside, but Sky had me spooked."

"Bitch chill out. You can change once you get to the club."

"Girl I'm not walking in the damn club with pajamas on!" I shouted sliding up against the door as Khandi made a U-turn. "How long do you think it'll take before we make it there?" I didn't even bother to look out the window as I slipped my skin-tight jeans over my thighs.

"Um, I'm crossing over the bridge right now."

"Shit, we're almost there then." Using the window as a mirror, I looked at my reflection in the tinted glass while I styled my hair into a neat up do.

"We're here now chick," Khandi notified me, coming to an abrupt stop.

Stopping myself from almost going through the windshield I exclaimed, "You need to go back to driving school bitch!"

"Shut up and come on." Khandi got out of the car and came over to let me out of the backseat.

"Why do you have the child safety lock on?"

"My friend's baby likes to play with the car handle so I put the lock on to make sure his little ass won't go flying out the door."

"My godson does that too." With her mouth all scrunched up, Khandi helped me out of the car. "What's wrong with you? You look like you're having a stroke."

"Fuck you hoe, let's go!" She playfully snatched my hand and dragged me into the club.
