A tad bit passed midnight I woke up to the subtle sound of someone knocking at my door.
I quickly sat up, wiped away the dribble from the corner of my mouth and ran my fingers through my hair before giving the person on the other side of the door permission to enter.
Once I was sure I looked straight, I gave them the okay to come in.
"You sleep?" Nique crept in my room wearing only a pair of basketball shorts and a wife beater.
Groggily I responded, "Not anymore. What's up?"
He parked his behind on the edge of the bed. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry for the other day."
"What are you talking about Nique?" I sat up.
"When we took that ride the other day and all that shit happened. I knew I shouldn't have brought you with me." I could smell the alcohol on his breath as he spoke.
I know this drunken fool is not apologizing for something that happened almost a week ago!
"Oh, it's okay. I'm not tripping," I fibbed. "It was actually kind of fun."
"Oh it was fun huh? So I guess I didn't scare you off then?"
"Nope." I shook my head.
"That's what's up. I like a li'l hood bitch."
After we both shared a quick laugh, a silent, awkward moment passed.
"So what's up? You come waking me up at this time of night just for that?" I got real with him, cutting to the chase.
"Man your girl's tripping for real ma."
"What do you mean Nique?" I moved closer to him.
"She's changing. Ever since she done found Moms she hasn't been acting the same. She use to always listen to a nigga, but now it's like fuck me." I just nodded as he went on. "I told her ass not to go nowhere tonight and she did the shit anyways."
"Why do you think she's changing up on you?"
"That's why I'm here Baby Girl. Y'all been best friends since y'all was shorties, so I know she told you something."
I eased my hand onto his broad shoulder and said, "Okay your right, I have been knowing Kyrielle for a long time and she is my friend, but I would tell you if something was up. I can't lie I've been noticing she's been acting funny with you too and personally, I don't even think she's at where she says she is half the time." I was being honest, but I was only revealing it to get into Nique's head.
"So where you think she be at then?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know."
He searched my eyes to see if I was telling the truth then finally said, "A'ight then, I'ma let you get you some rest and I'ma get at you in the morning."
He motioned to get up, but then turned around to face me and without warning, his big, juicy lips covered mine. At first I was taken aback, but when his tongue parted my lips, I relaxed a little.
His tongue repeatedly crashed into mine and caused my entire body to tremble. At that time I felt his hand brush up against the scar on my cheek then settle on the nape of my neck.
"Nique, Nique!" I moaned, trying to get his attention, but he kept going.
"What ma?" He pulled me closer.
