Quinn's POV
I ran through the forest holding three necklaces and my inactive necklace around my neck. I still don't know why it won't help me. I think there's some kind of ritual that I must do because it doesn't work when I just put it on. I got a cut in my side when I got caught escaping from the necklace trophy hall and its bleeding a lot. I did my best to go in and out without any hunter noticing me but I guess I ran out of luck because when I got there the wasn't any guards but the guards returned. I managed to kill one and run but the other one got a knife and sliced on my side when I was running away.
I crossed the halfway pack border where I told Katy I'll go to if I'm hurt. I passed the border line and I knew the alpha knows that I'm here. I headed straight to the pack house but collapsed halfway because of the loss of blood and the pain was too great. I felt light headed and clutched my side as the pain got too great.
"I smell it. It's this way" I heard someone say from a distance.
I'm too drained to run and hide so I just hid the three necklaces in my pocket hoping that they have some kind of protection from the wolves. I saw five male teenagers, probably the pack patrol, run towards me. I hissed at the pain. That stupid hunter must have used a silver knife.
"A white wolf but I thought they were extinct" the blonde said.
"Well this one will be if we don't help him" the tallest one said, he probably heard my hiss.
They slowly made their way towards me. I growled at them weakly not knowing if they're a threat or not.
"Hey man, we won't hurt you. We want to help" the leader of the group said, he was the one that smelled my scent.
I mumbled to them about needing to meet the alpha about a message but they chose to ignore it. I let them come towards me because I didn't have a choice. The last two of the group picked me up slowly and I let out another growl when my side hurt. The leader walked in front, the tallest one in the rear and the blonde one made sure I doesn't die.
"I know it hurts but be strong. We're going to help you, ok" he told me.
He gently slapped my cheek a couple of times to stop me from going unconscious. We walked past pack members in the shopping area and all of them filled with curiosity, shock and worry. I knew they were curious about me. To them I'm extinct. I suddenly smelt a lavender scent and lifted up my head. I spotted a group of girls carrying shopping bags surrounding a beautiful goddess of a girl in the middle. She's a red head with autumn brown eyes and freckles. She's laughing at what her friend said then tensed as if she knows that I'm looking at her. Mate. She's my mate. She sniffed the air and whimpered as if she knows her mate is near and hurt. Once she looked around then paused in my direction, she screamed and ran towards me, her shopping bags long forgotten. The leader stopped her from reaching him. I wanted to growl at him for doing that but I needed to save my energy.
"Abby, what are you doing?" The leader asked blocking her.
"He's my mate" she said with tears in her eyes.
There were gasps and the leader swore.
"This situation just got worse" the tall one said from behind me.
"A lot worse. We need to hurry otherwise Abby will be mate less" the blonde one said.
They let Abby go to my side. She put my hanging head in her soft, gentle hands. Tingles erupting from their contact.
"Please don't die. Promise me" she begged as she looked into my eyes with such hurt.
I looked at her with sad eyes. I knowing that I cannot promise her something like that. She burst out crying on my chest. I hated this why couldn't we meet and live happily forever after. Her sobs echoing over the pack members heads. Then she quickly lifted her head up to face my face.
