Chapter 15

Emerald's POV

Life isn't always fair. I found that out just now. Roxxie and Zac are mates and then we have a rogue attack.

They stormed inside our house before we could do anything. They held a knife to our neck when they pull us apart.

My bastard didn't even use his strengh to hold me because I'm too weak without my wolf.

The male mates in our group growled at the bastards holding their females. Will and John is busy escaping his attacker. Jade had tears running down her cheeks. No one had a chance to try escape. We are all busy.

I started getting dizzy and weak with all the screams outside of little children and worried mothers. One blood curling scream made me feel sick. It feels like I'm back in that place where Roxxie and I escaped.

No I can't go back there. Not now or ever.

I felt adrenaline flood throw my veins. These idiots are going to die.

I caught Roxxie's eye and winked to tell her I got a plan. I saw her started to smirk but quickly change back to her horror face.

I started acting sick and dizzy. Swaying side to side. I then coughed really loud.

"Em, you ok?" Roxxie said with a worried tone.

Roxxie said 'you ok' because that's the code words the boys and us use. It means you are ok just playing. Jayden, Mike, Ash, Jade and Kate all looked at each other and smirked.

"Oh no! That new disease is here!" Mike said faking surprised.

"What new disease?" The man standing in the middle of our captured circle said.

"Wow! You come to capture us and you don't know a thing about our kind" Mike said, "it's called... It's called... Um... Kate what's it called again?".

"Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. Yeah that what it's called" Kate said quickly.

"Hippo what?" My captor said confused.

"Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. I don't expect you to know it. You not science geeks" Kate said.

"Yeah it's really contagious. You probably getting it right now" Ash said.

My captor pushed me to the ground and started to dust off the imaginary sickness off himself.

"Shut up! It's not a sickness. I've never heard of it" the man said again.

Just then Jade started coughing really loud.

"Oh no! My sister got it too!" Jayden sid.

"You monsters are sick" the man said.

"So you get sick too" Mike said then coughed.

"So..." After that I never listened.

On the floor I slowly crawled to the cupboard and reached underneath for the secret compartment that I made to hide the seriously huge kitchen knife from Roxxie and Mike, who love playing with it.

I grasped my fingers around the handle, pulled it out and hid it underneath me carefully so it won't cut me. I looked around, still coughing. The man holding Jade put her on the couch and she was violently faking sickness.

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia. Idiots.

The man, who I think is the leader is standing right in front of me. I quickly but quietly stood up and run to him.

I put the seriously huge kitchen knife near his throat. Jade stopped faking and started giggling.

I put my mouth directly by his ear and felt his heart beat faster.

"Now be a good hunter and tell your men to stand down before I start playing let's bisect the hunter" I said evilly.

I heard him gulp. All his men looked at him for an order.

"Stand down and tell the others" he said nervously.

They all dropped their knives and someone went outside to tell the others outside.

"Good hunter" I said still in my evil tone to scare him.

"What are you going to do to us?" He said looking at Ash carefully picking up the silver knives.

"Send you up in the lovely vacation spot. You do know where that is right? It's this magical dungeon where all your dreams come true" Roxxie said dreamily.

Our guards all took them away and we sat there in the lounge. I still had the knife in my hands carefully admiring the sharpness on the edge. I wondered what if.

What if they never fell for it.

We could be dead.

I was too weak. They let the weakest idiot capture me. If my wolf came to me that exact time I would've killed them all.

What if... What if.

"Emerald, could you stop doing that. You scaring me" Kate said.

I looked up and saw all of them staring at me. Their eyes wide. I realized I was holding the knife like a evil murderer. I put it down.

"Sorry" I barely said.

We all sat quietly and I wondered why I did that. I'm that sweet little girl by heart who reads books and does what she's told. Well except when Julia, Shelia and Delia are around. I would never do something so evilly.

I'm not that kind of person.

....

"So... What is Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia?" Yvonne said breaking the silence.

We (me, Jayden, Kate, Mike, Ash and Jade) burst out laughing.

"It's the fear of long words" Kate said.

"Really? I thought its something about hippos" Yvonne said laughing.

"Ma'am what is your phobia? I'll try help you with it" Mike said like a professional doctor to Roxxie.

"I have... I have... No I'm too scared!" Roxxie said scared.

"Oh know I know! It's Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia" Ash said like a light bulb went off in his head.

"NO!!!!!! Don't say that it's too long" Roxxie said in distress.

We burst out laughing so hard that Mike fell off his chair taking Yvonne, who was sitting on his lap, with him.

When we all caught our breaths again, we all became hungry so Roxxie went to make some food bringing her love struck mate with her and anyone who wanted to help.

I stayed and read my percy jackson book.

I got lost in the world of books.

Away from a world of darkness.

Away from hunters.

Away from fear.

Away from knives.

Somewhere else.
