Chapter 44

Kate's POV

I watched in the distance in the safety of the trees as the fight happened. The light around us started to get darker as the night arrived. I watched as Will and Zac got shot with black and white arrows my dad shot them with. I hate my dad. He's drunk with power and he's hurting my friends. This was a man who I called dad but the man who took his place is not my dad. Em and Roxxie ran to their mates side and Mike joined the fight killing hunters by surprise. My dad's laughed echoed in the air.

"Awww is the little mates sad? Let me show you four the beauty of my power" He said.

The ground started crumbling and falling downwards taking hunters, wolves and them into a black hole. Everyone paused in shock and fear. The ground returned and I heard Eddy's growl from wherever he is. I see him sometimes but the rest of the time he disappears. Mike, Ash and Jayden screamed "No!" And turned to attack my dad. He just smirked at them. Ash was the first one to get there but he got blasted into a tree. My dad used his powers to pick Jayden up by his neck 6ft up in the air. I could feel he is strangling my mate. He did it to Mike and Ash too. This has gone far enough. I grabbed my gun and ran quickly but quietly in the trees so I can get there before his kills them. Everyone else is standing like statues watching the horror. I exited the trees right in front of my dad and pointed the gun at him. He looked shocked to see me there.

"Let go of my mate and friends" I demanded.

"Ha! Do you really think I will? What are you going to do? You won't shoot me" he said.

I smirked and shot him but he used magic to block it. He looked at me with pure anger.

"You pulled quite a stunt. Shooting my friends with arrows, making a black hole appear, blasting my friend into a tree, holding my mate and two friends 6ft in the air and now a shield. Let's see how long you powers hold" I said.

I began shooting him bullet after bullet. The hunters joined in. Ha! They are on my side now. The wolves protecting the captured also started shooting. In the corner of my eye I saw Ash and Jayden starting to slow down with their struggling. No they will not die. Not on my watch. My dad started to have beads of sweat on his forehead. My bullets ran out and I put more in then began shooting again. Everyone's bullets ran out and I shoot one more last time. The shield disappeared and I felt time go in slow motion as my bullet speeded through the air and hit my dad in the chest. Mike fell down next to me. Ash and Jayden fell in the distance. My dad looked at me in anger clutching where I shot him. He smirked at me and I looked at him confused. He exploded into a white light and the waves hit me to the ground as I shielded my eyes. When it was over I opened my eyes and saw the damage it caused. Trees caught on fire and grass started burning. I felt like a ton of bricks fell on top of me. I turned to the side and saw Em, Will, Roxxie and Zac by the captured. Their save. I sighed in relief. Jayden got pulled towards the captured to escape the fire where he dropped. Nikole hugged Ash. Everyone was full of dirt, ash, blood and burns.

I thought I was over but then the ground started rumbling. The black hole. Everyone started to run and the ground started falling downwards. Nikole pulled Ash to safety. I stood up ignoring the pain and Mike did too. I felt the ground caving in underneath me. Mike and I ran as fast as we could to the ledge it was making. Mike grabbed me around the waist and jump with his arm stretched. He was so close to reaching it but missed. He got a ledge a few feet down. Yvonne, Em, Roxxie, Jayden and Ash looked over the edge on their stomachs. They tried the reach us but we were too far. Unless Mike let's go of me then he can reach with his free hand. There was only one way for me and that's down.

"Mike, let me go" I said.

"No. I will not let you" he said.

He pulled me upwards so I could try reach. I got so close. I just needed a few more inches to reach Jayden. Mike lifted me up more and I got his hand. He pulled me up and I heard the ledge breaking below me. I looked down and saw Mike grab the ledge below him. Jayden pulled me over the edge and kissed me before I layed on my stomach to see Mike.

"I'm sorry, Yvonne" Mike said.

"Please don't say that. We will find a way to get you out of there" Yvonne said.

We all knew it was useless trying.

"I love you guys and gals" he said.

"No! Please" Yvonne said, tears running down her cheeks.

"Yvonne. It's ok. I'm ok" Mike said.

"No you won't be you going to die. I want my mate not ashes" Yvonne said.

"You still going to have Ash" he said smiling.

We laughed lightly.

"Yvonne, I love you" he said.

"I love you, Mike. Please don't die" Yvonne said.

The ledge started cracking. Mike looked at us smiling.

"Remember when you always used to irritate me, Mike. I always said I'm going to kill you. I don't want you to die falling into nothing. I want you to live" Roxxie said.

"Roxxie. Don't worry. I knew you weren't going to kill me" he said laughing.

Smoke started coming from underneath Mike and I saw a colours of red, orange and yellow. Lava. The heat started coming up to us. Yvonne started screaming and sobbing. The ledge started to break off in pieces. I heard crying all around us. No one want to see this brave joker fall to his death. It started getting harder to see him because of the smoke. Went we did, we saw him smiling. He is smiling when he knows he's going to die. I begged the moon goddess to let him live and everyone else did too. I didn't want him to die. I opened my eyes and saw him one more last time before the smoke blocked his smiling face. I heard the ledge break. All of us started sobbing for the great guy we lost. We all backed away from the edge and hugged each other. Suddenly I heard a beautiful voice.

"Your time is not up yet" it said.

The last thing I saw was a white flash.

I woke up to the sound of chirping. I opened my eyes and saw the blue sky above us. I sat up quickly and saw everything back to the way it was. The only thing that showed that there was a fight is the dirty people lying around. I looked at the place where the hole was and there was solid ground. In the middle is a figure lying on it back. Everyone started moaning as the woke up. Then the gasps came.

"Mike" Yvonne said staring at the figure.

"Your time is not up yet" I repeated the words from yesterday.

We all stood up and ran to the figure. There he lies. Mike. He woke up and saw us then smiled. We all hugged this crazy idiot.

"Miss me" Mike said.

"Don't you every scare us like that ever again" Roxxie said.

We let go so Yvonne and Mike can kiss.
