(Edited by Strangely-Beautiful)

Christmas break ended quickly and soon I was back at school, boring old school. School came and went like it always did. Luke and I saw each other constantly and I tried to keep up with hanging out with friends.

Sapphire slept over at my house a weekend here and there. She still argued with me that it wasn't enough. Sometimes we'd be hanging out and then Luke would make a pop-up visit and she would get angry and be mean to him or would just ignore us both. It hurts my feelings because she doesn't like Luke. It's like she doesn't even try to see things my way. I felt bad for Luke. Luke said he didn't mind, that he had a plan, I didn't know what it was and no matter how many times I poked and prodded, he wouldn't budge.

Months had past and things were still a little rough, I was still trying to get my best friend and my boyfriend to get along. Luke had bought her clothes and random gift cards but she said it didn't matter. Sapphire isn't a materials girl. She'd rather have real love than anything she can hold in her hand. Don't get me wrong, she loves shopping, but when someone buys her something just because, she feels like she owes them or something.

Finally, the month of May came along. It was my birthday month and prom month all wrapped up in 31 days. Luke's mom had someone personally make my dress. It was beautiful dark purple that hugged the curves that were just above my hips and slimmed my stomach with a couple ruffles. It hugged my butt so it looked really good. I didn't let Luke see me in the dress yet though but he does know the color so that he knows what tie to get to match with me.

It was the week before my birthday; a week from today is going to be my birthday. You just got to love having your birthday on a Monday.

I walked down the hall in complete tiredness. I didn't want to be here. I just wanted to be in bed snuggled up with a good movie. I don't have a T.V. in my room but Luke's room does. I smiled at the thought; A day in Luke's bed might be something that I needed.

As I was lost in thought, Sapphire approached me along with Grace. "What you smiling about?" They asked me as I threw my backpack into the locker.

I shrugged as I grabbed the notebooks and folders out of my locker for first hour. "Nothing really. I was just thinking."

"Does Luke have anything to do with these thoughts?" Grace teased and I could see the tension grow on Sapphire. I shrugged; I wasn't feeling on putting energy into a reply. "Has he asked you to prom yet?" Grace's face filled with hope and excitement for me.

"No not yet. I'm not sure if he wants to go or not because he really didn't  give me a straight answer. I am glad that Luke's school doesnt have a prom for underclassmen. I mean its a big school and everything, much bigger than ours." I said as I closed my locker door.

"I wouldn't be too scared." Sapphire spoke up to my surprise. "Everyone would've loved you if they did have a prom." She assured me. She might be mad at Luke but she still is a good friend. I gave her a genuine smile.

"Thanks. Do you have a date?" I asked Sapphire.

She shook her head. "I'm just gonna be the little extra lonely wheel that people sometimes talk about." She joked but she was sort of serious. I could tell by her face because she looked a little disappointed.

Before I could respond to Sapphire, the bell rang, dismissing everyone to their first hour classes. I slowly walked with my books in hand. Everyone was either rushing to their classes or taking their time finishing up their conversations, depending on the location of their first hour class. Mine wasn't too far away from my locker so I took my time, stopping and saying hi to some long-time friends, and some new ones too.

I strolled into class with my head down and sat in my seat. I pulled out my homework from yesterday and patiently waited for the bell to ring.

A girl sat next to me, I knew her of course, she was sort-of my friend. We haven't really talked much because she is shy and she doesn't talk much. Her name is Lisa. She is really smart and I actually have her in a lot of my classes. She was home schooled most of her life and this year is actually the first year she is in public school with the rest of us delinquents. Fun fun.

"Hey." I said as she flipped through her notebook. Her eyes were still cast downwards and it didn't look like we were going to be making eye contact anytime soon.

"Hi." She quietly mumbled. I felt like I just annoyed her so I didn't want to say much to her and left her alone. The bell rang and I continued to focus on what was going on and then the classroom phone rang. The teacher walked over to the phone and answered it quickly.

"Hello Mr. Lisped's room?" He answered. "Uh-huh, yup. I will send her," Is all the class heard and then he turned towards me.

My stomach dropped. I hate attention. Uhhhh. "May you are wanted in the office." Everyone looked at me like I was insane or I did something horribly wrong but then I thought back and realized I had done nothing really.

I just grabbed my stuff and made my way to the office. I put my stuff in my locker and walked to the office when I was stopped by Luke's friend Leo. I obviously knew something was up when he handed me a rose and grabbed my wrist. I was confused but I just went with it.

All of a sudden I am dragged into the theater part of our school where we put on the plays. It's not relatively big, but it's a good size for how small our school is. The room was dark and I could barely see anything but I heard the song I Need A Hero by Bonnie Tyler. I started laughing because the song is on the movie Footloose, both versions.

Then I see Jacob come out in a superhero costume which I'm pretty sure was supposed to be Thor. He held the big piece of paper that reads P. I hold my breath because I can assume whats happening. I see Eric gallop across the stage to stop right along side Jacob wearing a Batman costume. He flips around a big piece of paper that he is holding that says R. Skit soon skips out in a spider man costume with another piece of paper. He flips it around and looks at his paper in panic. I give him a confused look and he quickly turns the paper around. I burst out in laughs because its an O so it doesn't really matter what way its supposed to go but it seems to have calmed skit down. Riley hops out from behind the curtain to his place and holds out an M. I breath out trying to keep my breath steady. I watch as Luke walks heroically on stage holding his arms bent on his hips a piece of paper dangle from his finger tips in his left hand. He holds the paper up to his chest, a question mark on it. I laugh as I clasp my hand in a tight fist. I don't know how to put away these emotions. Happy. Excited. Nervous. Mad. Not that mad. Weird-ed out by the tight superhero costumes. Luke handed the question mark over to Leo who was somehow standing next to him even though I thought he was standing next to me but I guess i was so distracted by the performance that I didn't notice him move. Luke runs to me letting his cape float in the wind, okay it didn't float but I know he was trying because he kept looking back at it and he looked like a little kid playing outside in the summer when his face lit up because he saw it moving more. I laughed at his reaction. He came up to me and took both my hands.  I gave him a look like what are you doing? "Will you go to prom with me?" He said. I laughed.

"You mean my prom? You want to go to my prom with me?" I said with a smirk. His school is a bigger school so they only allow juniors to go to prom and I knew that. Luke hesitantly nodded his head. "Yes, I would love to go to prom with you." He smiled and turned towards the guys and flicked his wrist symbolizing that they could leave now so they all turned away and walked towards the stage exit. Luke turned back towards me and grabbed my face in his hands and pulled me towards him for a kiss; well it was a really long kiss. He grabs my hand after he pulls away and gives me a mischievous look. "What?" I ask.

"We are ditching today." He said while raising his eyebrows. He knew this was on my bucket list. Oh, I am so glad he is mine.

Okay so Prom is next and I think that might be the ending chapter. Don't forget to take a look at my other books; Falling and Big Beautiful Tough Love.
