Everley POV
"But I don't want the both of you to leave!" I said to my parents, who were in front of the door of our palace, desperately stopping them from leaving the kingdom. "You said you won't leave anymore?"
"Evvy, you have to understand that I and your mother are attending an important business to maintain the prosperity of our kingdom," my father said, and I get really upset. Tears welled in my eyes as I pleaded, "But what if something happens while you're gone? I need you both here with me! So no one will hurt me." My mother knelt down to my level, her expression softening as she replied, "No one will harm you, Evvy, and nothing bad will happen to us. We promise we'll be back for you," Mother said while she comforts me. "Yes, Evvy. If anyone tries to harm our princess, they will meet great punishment," my father said while he crouched down too to touch my head.
"You're both liars! Evvy is always hurt! And they never get punished!" I cried, and they both hugged me. "Is it your cousins again? Don't worry, they got their punishment and never will set foot in this palace again," Father said while he looked at me to be rest assured. "Yes, Evvy. They will no longer harm you," my mother said while she was wiping my tears off and pinching my cheeks.
"We'll be back as soon as possible, and we'll never leave again after this matter, alright?" Father said, and I looked at them both. "You two promise?" I said while my nose sniffed.
"We promised to our princess Evvy," Father said.
"We love you, Evvy," Mother said.
*Loud Thunder Crack*
"Princess! I am truly sorry, but the king and queen are unable to get home," said one of our servants, who was soaking wet because of the heavy rain outside.
"What do you mean? Where are they?" I said while I'm trying to hold my composure.
"Your mother and father won't be here anymore, princess, and it's time to set new rules here." My whole body was shaking in fear when I saw Aunt Morana. "Lock the princess in her room and don't let her out until I say so!" she said, and I began to walk backward because they're trying to get hold of me.
"No! Where are my parents?" I shouted, trying to resist the servant's grasp. "Mother! Father! Let me see them!" I cried while I saw Aunt Morana was just smiling.
*Loud Thunder Crack*
"Gasped! Huff!" I was awakened from a dream that I knew was not a dream. It happened before when I was a kid. I sighed and just looked up at my plain, boring white ceiling, and I put my right hand up to see it—it was shaking.
*Growl~*
"Sigh! How long am I going to be this hungry?" I said to myself as my stomach growled, asking for food. It's been 3 days; Aunt Morana is not coming home, and they never let me eat even though I'm hunting some animals to eat. I might die of hunger. I can't die like that; I need to survive and get out of here.
But that person.
Princess Amber... It's been a week, and she's still not showing up.
"Why are people giving me false hope? They're liars just like my parents," I said with a mad tone. They said they would return for me, but they never did.
