Getting Ready for the Quest

Percy wasn't sure what to expect when Annabeth called a quest. Or when she asked Nico to be the third person on their quest. Nico had accepted, looking surprised that from all demi-gods, Annabeth would pick him.

"He's part of this quest. I just know he is." Annabeth said.
"How do you know?" Percy had wanted to know.
Annabeth looked at him,"He is part of the quest." She had decided.

There was no prophecy since Rachel couldn't see any. The power of the Oracle still wasn't working. Percy, Annabeth, and Nico would have to go on the quest without a prophecy. They couldn't contact Ella since she was at Camp Jupiter trying to remember any other prophecy she could have read.

Jason and Piper were there too along with Frank who was the praetor and needed to help the camp. Reyna and Hazel were still at Camp Half-Blood, deciding to stay there for about a week.

Percy looked out at the lake, where Nico sat on the sand with Hazel besides him. Hazel had a little toy figurine in her hand which Percy suspected was from the game Nico used to play when he was younger. Mythomagic. Hazel waved the figurine in front of his face which made Nico scowl and lean back away from it. Hazel laughed. She did that again, but this time Nico actually sort off smiled. It was weird watching Nico smile because he almost never did that.

Percy turned and walked to the Athena cabin where Annabeth was packing everything she would need for the quest. Percy and Nico had already finished packing but Annabeth insisted on double checking they had everything they would need.

Percy walked inside slowly looking for Annabeth who wasn't there.

"Are you looking for Annabeth?" One of the Athena children asked. Percy guessed she was new to camp. She looked about nine years old.
"Uh, yeah. Have you seen her?"
The girl put down the book she was reading. Percy raised an eyebrow at how big the book was. Heck, when he was nine, he read picture books about Ariel the mermaid.

"Yes. She went to check on Malcolm before leaving on her quest tomorrow morning." The girl said and returned to reading.
"Shouldn't you be at archery practice with the rest of the cabin?" Percy asked curiously.

"Shouldn't you be canoeing?" She snapped back without looking up.
Percy raised his hands in surrender,"Alright then." He left the cabin and went over to the Poseidon cabin.

The backpack that was thrown on the bed had everything he believed was needed on the quest. The knock on the door made him snap out if his daydream. He opened the door to find Will Solace standing there, with beach shorts and a Camp Half Blood tank top. Today he wore blue flip-flops.

"Um, hi, can i come in?" Will asked looking back to where Nico sat with Hazel. Percy opened the door wider for him to enter. He kept the door open in case Annabeth stopped by.

"Do you need sonething?" Percy looked at Will surprised. He didn't talk to Will a lot. Will hesitated before speaking.
"Yea. I know Nico is going on this quest with you and Annabeth." He started.
"He is." Percy confirmed.

"Well, can you make sure he doesn't do anything stupid like shadow travel?" Will Solace asked.
"We're not really talking right now so can you tell him to stay safe?" Will continued.

Percy didn't think Nico would appreciate it if Percy told him what he could and couldn't do. But for the sake of Will he nodded.
"Sure thing Will. No shadow travel."

Will smiled a little.
"Thanks. I hope you find your baby." He told Percy before leaving the cabin.
Percy looked at the wall.
"I hope we find him too." He muttered. He wasn't sure how.

Walking back out he saw Annabeth with Hazel and Nico. She kneeled down next to Hazel as she inspected the figurine that Hazel had been teasing Nico with. Annabeth gave Hazel a sad smile before getting up and walking over to Percy.

"Hazel wanted me to keep a figurine of Hades for good luck." Annabeth said with a smile.
"You're all packed for tomorrow morning Percy?" She asked looking at him. He nodded.

"I saw Will come out of your cabin. Did it have something to do with Nico?" Annabeth looked worried. Percy wasn't sure why.

"Yeah. He wanted me to make sure Nico didn't shadow-travel."

"As if you are going to be able to stop Nico from doing that. It's his favorite hobby after all." Annabeth said with a small smile. She kissed Percy before walking back to her cabin. Percy stood surprised, Annabeth had not kissed him since the day their baby was kidnapped which almost was four months ago.

Annabeth had faith that they were going to find their baby. He did too. But it had been such a long time since the baby had been taken away by Kelly the empousi. Just the thought of her name made him grit his teeth and clench his fists. He wondered how she had left Tartarus. Maybe she left before Annabeth and Percy had closed the doors of Death.

Percy walked back in and decided to Iris message Tyson who was in Camp Jupiter.

"O goddess, accept our offering." He said once he managed to get a rainbow going. He threw the drachma he held in his hand into the rainbow.

"Tyson at Camp Jupiter." He told it. Nothing happened for a while until Tyson appeared with peanut butter on his teeth. Some things never changed.

"Brother! You are still alive! Yay!" Tyson exclaimed with a wide smile. Percy couldn't help but smile back him.

"Of course I am Tyson. How you've been big guy?" He looked at the background, it seemed like Tyson was at Neptune's temple.

Tyson's eye shined with excitement,"Camp Jupiter is nice. Ella is teaching me fun things!" Percy laughed at his excitement.

"Hey, listen, I need you to tell everyone who is there that Annabeth, Nico, and I are going on a quest. Can you tell them that?"

Tyson looked confused for a second.
"Okay brother. Take care and take care of Annabeth and Nico. I will tell everyone here."

The image started fading,"Tell them Tyson! Take care big guy!" Percy told Tyson.

"Be safe brother!" Tyson said back before the Iris message faded completely.

Percy doubted that this quest would be anything but safe.

Yay! I updated! Congrats for me!
So i recently have been rereading the Heroes of Olympus series, and right now I just finished rereading The Mark of Athena. The ending still makes me cry 😢.
