They were enjoying and having all the fun, unaware of Sid's presence around them. Sid followed them like a shadow, never letting them off the radar. Their entwined hands made Sid furious. However, Sid believed in patience. He believed that with patience and calm, he would win Ragini again. He suffered when he saw them together, his heart ached, however, in order to win his love back, he needed to act wisely and definitely not impulsively. One wrong step and everything will be ruined. He reminded himself to be cool and composed, again and again.
By the time they were back at the hotel, they were dead tired. They had already had their dinner at a 100 years old restaurant which was famous for their traditional cuisine. Sid followed them without losing them for even a single second until they were back in their room but that was not gonna stop Sid from spying on them. The secretly installed cameras in their room would work efficiently as his eyes.
"You can take a shower first. I'll take a short nap till then," said Ragini while she straightened herself on the bed.
"You don't wanna join?" Sparsh teased her.
Ragini shook her head while massaging her legs.
"I'll give you a massage later." And Sparsh walked into the bathroom.
Ragini had nodded off when Sparsh came back. He woke her up, carried her to the bathroom and then it was his turn to take a nap.
"Are you asleep?" whispered Ragini in his ear when she had laid down beside him.
He said "Yes" in his sleepy voice and cuddled her. She grabbed him equally tight and kissed his forehead before planting a peck on his lips.
"Let's sleep," she said and covered themselves with the soft blanket.
In his room, Sid watched them falling asleep in each other's arms. His clenched fist turned red and a vein protruded on his forehead.
"Just few more hours!" He laughed like a crazy man switching off his laptop. He went to his bed, covered himself with a blanket and said, "Few more hours" followed by a psychopathic laughter which actually brought tears to his eyes.
Sparsh woke up with a call on Ragini's phone. Half asleep, he could only open one eye and reached for the phone on the bedside table. It was a whatsapp call. The name the screen displayed was "Sid".
"Why would he call her and not mentioned?" Sparsh thought to himself.
He immediately reached for his phone and checked but there were no calls or messages from Sid, but he didn't wanna suspect anyone. It was nothing worth doubting.
While he was processing all these thoughts, a message from Sid popped up. He was tempted to read it. He hesitated but decided to go for it.
The message said, "Found this pic today. You were so chubby back then." And with it was a picture attached. Sparsh was taken aback. It was an old picture, they both looked quite young and that meant his brother and his wife had known each other for a long time, longer than he had known her. If they did, why did they hide this fact? His mind was full of questions. He didn't wanna suspect either his wife or brother but the picture in front of him told another story. Sid's hand on Ragini's shoulders and the smiles on their faces proved that they were close too.
The sound of Ragini's footsteps alerted him and he kept the phone at its original place and closed his eyes.
"Now, it's your turn. Go and take a shower." Ragini ran her fingers through his hair.
Sparsh got out of the bed and sat at a corner of the bed. Ragini smiled and sat on his lap. "Good morning dear husband."
"Good morning." Sparsh keenly looked at her and wondered what the situation could be. He could feel her love, there was no way she had someone else in her life.
They had their whole day planned out. They had to visit a few historical monuments and a famous flower garden, so they got dressed, had their breakfast at the hotel and left for the bus terminal nearby. While Ragini was excited, Sparsh couldn't stop imagining things. Ragini didn't enjoy much without Sparsh's involvement. Occasionally, he would show some interest but it was forceful. Ragini asked if anything was wrong with him and if they should call it a day, he replied that he was just tired and wanted to continue. He didn't want to spoil the day for Ragini, he thought it'd be the best to directly confront her and not assume anything. He decided to talk to her at the hotel later at night.
None of them was hungry as they had had a heavy lunch followed by some quick snacks. It was not dark when they reached at their hotel. The first thing they did was to wash themselves, separately and then laid on the bed as they had walked for almost the whole day.
"Are you very tired?" asked Ragini while she had her head resting on Sparsh's chest.
He nodded while caressing her hair. He knew it was the time. He had to do it. He was sure that there was a bigger story beneath the surface and there was no doubt that she loved him.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Of course you can. What is it?" replied Ragini.
"Today I..." He was interrupted by a call on Ragini's phone.
"We'll talk later. Receive it."
Ragini excused herself and went to the balcony to receive the phone call. Sparsh knew it was Sid who had called her. Her facial expressions were enough to tell that. She looked as if she was hiding something, he could sense nervousness and fear in her eyes. His heart was aching. Was there really something going on between them?
Sparsh covered his eyes with his arm and waited for Ragini to return. Fifteen minutes went by and she was still on phone. Since he was tired, mentally, emotionally and physically, he fell asleep only to wake up and find Ragini sleeping beside him.
