Ituska opens her eyes slowly, seeing the ceiling above her. As she fully gains consciousness, she remembers the battle prior and immediately sits up.
"Kenny!" Itsuka suddenly exclaimed. "What the...?"
Itsuka looks around, finding herself in some worn down room. On the bed next to her, lay Aoi. On the bed beside him lay Devlin, who were yet to gain consciousness.
"Ah, you're finally awake." Charmcaster's voice called out.
"Where are we?" Itsuka enquired.
"The resistance's hideout." Charmcaster replied as she stood by the room's door.
Itsuka gets off her bed and follows Charmcaster out. Itsuka and Charmcaster step out and the former lays her eyes on the large spacious area.
"Is this...?" Itsuka asked as she looked around.
"The Grand Central Station. Or what's left of it." Charmcaster replied.
"Where's Kenny?" Itsuka asked.
"Sorry, kid. I wish we had more time. You and your other friends were the only ones Charmcaster could save." Vulkanus replied as he appeared behind the two.
"You didn't save him?!" Itsuka yelled. "Why didn't you go after him?!"
"It was a strategic retreat! Your boyfriend was frozen in time and so were you AND your friends. It was either us or them! You don't know that lot like I do! Here, you follow OUR lead!" Charmcaster shot back.
"We didn't know what to expect 'cus you didn't tell us everything! Legion having Clockwork?! Couldn't you give us that bit of info 5 minutes before the attack?!" Itsuka yelled. "And also, Kenny is NOT my boyfriend!"
"Alright, that's enough you two." Vulkanus got in between Itsuka and Charmcaster. "Fighting among each other isn't going to help anyone. What's done is done. We try again with a new set of warriors. Charmcaster, how's your mana levels?"
"Higher than before but not enough for me to open another multiversal portal." Charmcaster replied.
"I guess we have no choice but to wait." Vulkanus replied.
" 'Wait'? Are you serious? We can't wait! We need to form an attack plan right now! God knows what those maniacs have in store for Kenny!" Itsuka urged.
"Hey, new girl? This is war. You get some allies. You lose some too. Once I'm recharged, I'm opening another portal." Charmcaster finalized.
"Your giving up on Kenny? Are you sure you're a hero fighting for freedom?" Itsuka narrowed her gaze.
"What was that?" Charmcaster growled.
"Is this what you do? You give up on allies who get captured? Do you never try to bring them back?" Itsuka questioned. "Where I'm from, we don't give up on our friends or allies! We fight against the odds and bring them home!"
"Have you seen the state our resistance is in?" Vulkanus asked, pointing to a group of soldiers. "You see that group there? That's all we got! We don't have the man power to organize a direct strike!"
"You got four new heroes added to your team. Counterparts to the Legion's enforcers!" Itsuka pointed out.
"Yeah. Weaker counterparts. Your magic isn't even close to War Witch's level or mine. Your Blood Blade isn't as fast or strong as ours. As for your world's Mad Tinkerer? Actually, I can't really say anything for him." Charmcaster replied. "The only one who had a shot was your Ken Tennyson and that was only because of his so called 'ultimate' forms."
"Then let's get Kenny back." Itsuka replied.
"Weren't you listening to Vulkanus? We don't have the man power!" Charmcaster yelled.
