After having received quite a bit of medical attention from Sakura- who had said that it luckily wasn't anything too bad, his neck would most likely bruise a bit, and he might have a sore throat for the next few days- Byakuya was left alone in the infirmary.
Well, that wasn't exactly true. Chihiro had stayed with him even after everybody had left, eyes wide as saucers and filled to the brim with a mixture of concern and fear because of what happened to Byakuya. It was so adorably stupid and honestly, it was growing to become annoying too. He could only take so much of Chihiro's pathetic behaviour before being done with it.
And it had taken Byakuya quite a bit of convincing to get the little brat to leave him alone. Only when he had said that he wished to get some sleep Chihiro had went away, and even then, he had looked back a number of times, clearly hesitant about leaving Byakuya alone.
But he was gone now. Which meant that Byakuya could finally enjoy some peace and-
"Oh my God! I can't believe you actually did that!" Junko's familiar voice came from the robotic bear that was standing on him after the door closed with a thud. So much for his peace and quiet.
He let out a soft sigh. "Junko." He muttered the name with slight annoyance, which earned him a giggle in return. "Are you incapable of letting me rest?"
"When you do something like that, yeah!" The bear nodded, another girlish giggle coming from the robot. "I mean, if I didn't know you as much as I did, I would've thought that your fear was real!"
"That was because it was meant to look real," Byakuya responded in a deadpan voice, rolling his eyes. "Now, was that all? Planned or not, it does not take away from the fact I'm actually injured a bit."
At those words, all of Monokuma's movement halted. The bear just looked straight at Byakuya, unmoving. It was clear that for some reason, Junko was doing something other than controlling the robot right not.
Eventually though, Monokuma moved slightly, just his head moving down. "How badly?" Junko asked, her voice clear of any cheerfulness or playfulness for once. Her voice was cold and serious, something that didn't happen often.
"Sakura said my throat will most likely bruise, though not heavily," He answered, eyes slowly looking over the bear, as if trying to figure out why Junko was acting like this. "The oaf was stopped before he could do anything really stupid."
Junko didn't answer immediately at that. In fact, she stayed so silent that Byakuya almost thought that she had lost connection or something. It was only due to the moving downwards of Monokuma's head- his gaze was now below Byakuya's face for some reason- that he knew she was still there.
"The motive will come tomorrow," She said abruptly, her voice containing something Byakuya couldn't quite recognise. It was far from the usual excitement she would normally be saying those words with though. "...Rest well, Byakuya." And with that, the bear disappeared before Byakuya could even get another word in.
How... curious.
It certainly was weird for Junko to act like that, especially out of nowhere. But at the same time, it was Junko. That girl was the definition of unpredictable. As such, Byakuya wouldn't pay too much attention to it. The only thing he would do right now was listen to her final words and rest.
After all, he wanted to make sure he could see everybody's reactions clearly tomorrow. He wouldn't want to miss any of that fun.

Things felt more tense at breakfast the next day. Not only was their group getting smaller- Mondo and Toko didn't want to join the meetings anymore and Byakuya... was resting- but after what Mondo had done, whatever pleasantness had still existed had now fully disappeared.
