If Kyoko wanted to talk to him about the secret she was given, it could only mean one thing- she had his secret.
So, it was a swap then, one that was most definitely on purpose.
It also wasn't hard to guess why Junko had done this- it was to help him get his revenge. And he would take full advantage of that.
"You are?" He asked the girl in return, a soft hum escaping his lips. "How... curious. I was about to do the same myself."
Kyoko pursed her lips, a slight hint of realization present in her eyes that she quickly supressed. "You were? I hope I'm not interrupting any plans then," She responded, acting oblivious on purpose. She didn't trust him fully then. Not yet at least.
"Not at all." He then paused for a slight moment, moving to the side of the door. "You are the person I was wanting to approach." He admitted, his voice light.
"We have been given each other's secrets then," The girl quickly deduced without missing a beat.
Byakuya nodded, "That we have." He then opened his door fully, an invite for her to enter. "Quite the coincidence, hm?"
"Coincidence?" Kyoko repeated the word with a slightly questioning edge. "Do you truly think that?" She had made no move to enter his room, an action that didn't go unnoticed by the heir.
He pretended to think, his movements pausing as if he wasn't aware of the answer already.
Then, after a moment, he shook his head. "No. The mastermind has crafted this motive with a reason. That means that who receives what secret is important too," He answered, a frown appearing on his face as he spoke those words, further selling his act.
"Without a doubt." Kyoko nodded in agreement. "That only leaves the why. Why would give the mastermind us each other's secrets, hm?"
Because Junko thought he would like that. An assumption that was far from wrong.
That was the answer this girl in front of him was looking for. It was a truth Byakuya would make sure stayed hidden, no matter what it took. Though, that would be far from hard- as much as Kyoko acted like she was smarter than him, she was nothing compared to him.
"I suppose that there is only one way for us to find out," He responded as he stepped back into his dorm room completely, making sure that his door stayed open as he did so.
This time, Kyoko did accept his invitation, stepping into the room after him. He gestured to the lone chair at his table while he sat down on his bed himself.
The girl did as Byakuya wanted, moving to sit down on the chair. However, the whole time Byakuya could see her scanning the room, eyes carefully moving over every item, analysing them.
Normally, this would be a weird thing to do, even for somebody like Kyoko. However, things weren't normal currently, not for the girl sitting opposite of him. Because she was missing something everybody else here had- memories of their ultimate talent.
Talents that are reflected in each of their rooms. What she most likely was trying to do was find out what items were his, and not just standard in all of the rooms. She wouldn't find anything though- her room was the standard. There was nothing in her room that made it special, Byakuya and Junko had made sure of that.
Kyoko's eyes moved over to the fake yellow rose on his table- one Junko had put there because of its overly platonic meaning while also representing the things he hated- before flicking back up, looking behind him.
"You play violin?" She asked, her eyes focused on what Byakuya now knew to be his violin.
He nodded. "I do. However, I fail to see how it's relevant to our current discussion," Byakuya answered, frowning again. He was not here to have a pleasant conversation with her, that wasn't part of his plan.
