"Stand at Attention Boys!" Agent Carter shouted. Steve's arms fell to his sides as they finally stopped doing jumping jacks. His legs felt like jello and his arms had never been heavier but Steve straightened his back, looked dead ahead and tried not to breathe too loudly.

The other men made fun of them. They said that he wasn't a man. They mocked him for joining the army and said that he'd be one of the first to die. Steve didn't care because he knew when the fighting started and the bullets were whizzing past them, he would be the one out there faster than any of these men. They may have been built for the army but Steve had his heart in it.

"Now, in a minute Colonel Phillips is going to come over here and talk to you boys about a special project done by Doctor Abraham." Agent Carter walked back and forth in front of the line of men, looking all of them in the eye. Steve was sure that some of them looked away. Agent Carter had proved to be an incredible fighter in the week they had been there and Steve had actually learned some useful fighting techniques from her.

It must have been about two days ago, their drill master was pitting them against each other to see who could come out on top in a fight. Steve dreaded the moment he would have to go because the sergeant was pitting men who were total opposites against each other.

This man was quick and lithe, his opponent was big and aggressive. Steve knew he would be up against Hodge and he would knock him down over and over but Steve wasn't about to lay down and let Hodge walk all over him. As soon as the next man out of the pair had been defeated, the Sergeant shouted,

"Rodgers! Hodge! Up next." Hodge and his buddies laughed, patting his shoulders as he entered the ring. Hodge wasted no time in attacking Steve and seconds later, he was on the ground spitting out blood, but he got back up. Again and again.

"Sergeant!" A sharp voice sounded. Hodge looked up from where Steve lay on the ground as Agent Carter made her way through the men. "Now, does this look like a fight to you? One man who keeps falling to the ground who can't get a punch in." Steve stood up hastily. He didn't want to be ridiculed.

"Ma'am, I.."

"Hush for now soldier. So is this a fight Sergeant?"

"Rogers needs to learn how to defend himself Agent or he isn't going to make it out in the battlefield."

"He isn't going to learn how to fight much less defend himself if you don't teach him properly. Hodge, back in the ranks." Agent Carter commanded, stripping off her brown jacket and revealing the light green button up underneath it. The men were beyond catcalling her now. They knew if they did, they'd all earn a punch in the face. Hodge got out of the way. "Now, Rogers, I'm going to teach you to fight like a women." Then men around them started snickering. "Mr. Dunwell is there a problem with fighting like a women?"

"N-no.. Ma'am." He stuttered out.

"Agent.. Please." Steve said lowly, clenching his fists at his side but she didn't listen to him.

"No, Rodgers if you please watch me and my technique. Mr. Dunwell can you come here for a minute?" Mr. Dunwell stepped forward and swallowed hard. "Now, get down, come on fighting stance." Agent Carter instructed. Dunwell obeyed her. "Now, attack me with all you got, don't hold back." Dunwell looked toward the Sergeant but he stood tall and straight, hands behind his back. He wasn't going to stop this.

Dunwell attacked, his left hand flying out to hit Agent Carter squarely in the jaw but she ducked, grabbed his arm and wrenched it behind his back. Dunwell cried out in pain. Steve stared at her surprised. "See, Steve you have to use their strength against them." She twisted his arm further and shoved him away from her. Dunwell stumbled, gasping. Agent Carter then kicked him in the back, sending him sprawling toward the ground. Steve was impressed. He had to admit that.
