A/N: there's going to be a small time jump here. There's not much to say in regards to Steve and Willow's lives in between this time. She still works at her newspaper company and Steve is still on tour. The time jump isn't because I don't know what to write it so we can get the story to move a bit faster. Just imagine that by this point, Steve has travelled the better half of the country and they've sent maybe two dozen letters back and forth.
"Captain!" Somebody shouted. Steve scowled a little and swore under his breath. He was trying to start his letter to Willow for the fifth time that day and something kept interrupting him.
"What is it?" Steve asked, glancing up. Olsen was walking towards Steve smiling broadly.
"Come on, suit up. Have you forgotten what today is?"
"It's May 10th." Steve replied promptly. Olsen chuckled and shook his head which made Steve confused.
"Yes but what else is today? What's happening?" Steve didn't have the slightest idea. Other than the show later that night, he was pretty positive he didn't have anything else on his agenda.
"You're loosing me here Olsen." The man smiled.
"This your big day movie man!" Damnit. Steve had forgotten. Today they were shooting the first of many mini war episodes of Captain America. Steve sighed and rubbed his forehead with his hand.
"Oh man I forgot." Olsen chuckled and clipped his shoulder.
"That's okay Steve. Just grab your costume and we'll go. There's a car waiting outside." This explained why they had asked him to come in earlier than usual. Steve nodded and Olsen gave him five minutes to collect his thoughts and gather his things.
Steve stared down at his letter forlornly. He had barely put the date on it and he already had to stop. Running a hand through his hair, Steve grabbed up his bag and began tossing his costume into it. Steve had been on the road for nearly three months now and while he liked seeing all the states and had kept in contact with Willow, it didn't feel the same.
Part of him wished he hadn't wanted to be in the army so badly, so that he could have stayed and protected Willow. Not that she needed much protecting, he just wanted to be with her. Ever since he had found out that Willow was in love with him, nothing seemed real anymore. It was like Steve had gone to an alternate universe, one where Willow was in love with him and he had a well built, muscular body.
Not seeing her and being on the road made Steve anxious. She had only mentioned him that one time but Steve was worried about this John guy. They worked together, probably even closely. Did they talk often? They certainly saw each other every day. Steve knew Willow would never see another man behind his back but he also knew that with a lot of the men off fighting a war, it was practically open season for any bachelor to pick up the pretty girls and Willow was a stunning girl.
"Steve!" Looking up Steve spotted Olsen by the stage door. "Come on! These producers came all the way out from Hollywood to get this film moving. I wouldn't keep them waiting." Steve nodded, shouldering his bag.
Steve followed Olsen out of the theatre and down to a waiting car. It seemed like Olsen was more excited for Steve's series of short films than Steve actually was. Olsen seemed to be really interested in the producers especially. According to him, they made a lot of high end films.
