Autumn's POV
"Is that what you think?" I asked, after hearing everything Marjorie said. I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, but a delivery came that needed her signature, but hearing her say I don't care what she thinks I had to keep listening.
"Autumn, you weren't supposed to hear that," she said, turning to look at me.
"Clearly, 'cause you wouldn't even look at me early. If you would let me explain,"
"I can't have this conversion," she said, trying to get up and leave.
"Marjorie, I think you should," Siobhan said, holding her wrist to stop her, but what she doesn't know is once Marjorie decides she can't handle something she won't.
"No, I have to go," she said, pulling away from Siobhan and blowing past me, but I'm not going to let this end like last time. I quickly followed her out to the car park.
"Marjorie, will you stop running from me? It's not like I'm going to hurt you," I joked, hoping to lighten the mood, but that was a bad thing to say cause she spun around tears threatening to fall.
"Autumn, you already have. I told you not to go. I begged you to drop it, but you did what you wanted and damn how I felt about it. So, no, I will not have this conversion and no I will not stop running," she screamed.
"Look I know the way I left hurt you, but if you would listen-" I was cut off.
"Just leave me alone. I wanted to talk at the house, but you stormed out. I wanted to protect you, but you didn't care. I don't care what you have to say. I can't be hurt by another Knight sibling," she turned and got to her car, opening the door.
"Why are you acting this way? You were calmer when you found out Reece cheated on you," I said, pushing the door shut. If I let her leave I will lose her.
"I'm not talking about this. Move so I can leave," she said, never looking me in the eye.
"I'm not moving till you tell me why. He cheated on you and yet I'm the one you are pissed at. What did I do that was so bad you won't even look at me?"
"Because he was right," she whispered.
"What?"
"He was right. I never physically cheated on him, but I wasn't faithful. I'm pissed at what he did, but how could I not understand when I'm no better. You ask why I was so calm when I found out it's because I was already in love with someone else," she said, turning, putting her back against the door of the car.
"Marjorie, what are you talking about? I see how you look at him. You can't fake that," I said, knowing she would never lie to me, but not believing what she was saying.
"It wasn't fake. I love him, but I'm in love with someone I could never have,"
"That still doesn't explain why you are treating me this way," I said, wanting to understand her. I want to understand what I did.
"Do I have to spell it out for you?" she sighs.
"Well, yeah, because clearly I'm lost. So, please spell away,"
"It's you, you idiot. I am in love with you. I'm not pissed at you, I'm pissed at myself because I couldn't protect you," she screamed, tears falling down her face. "I failed you when you needed me. Even if you didn't know you needed me,"
"Marj," I said softly, going to wipe the tears from her cheek, but she moved away from me. Without saying a word she got in her car and drove away. How did I miss it? I'm the observant one. I notice everything. So how did I miss this? How did I let it get to this point? I stood there frozen. Unable to move. Not knowing what to do.
