EDITED.

The weekends finally rolled by and that also meant home sweet home. A smile graced my lips as I knocked on the door a couple of times. Right at the moment when I pushed open the door, all eyes were on me. I saw how they lit up with happiness and excitement almost instantly and it only made my smile grow wider. Just like how I left, I was once again stuck in the middle as all of them throw their arms around me and this time, there were no tears, only smiles and laughter.

It had only been 5 days and I thought how all of them already look much more grown-up than before. "I miss you guys," I cooed and I could already feel the tears threatening to fall.

"Hey, hey. No tears. Come here," Nathan demanded and I was brought to the same old wooden table.  I was pleasantly greeted by a wide array of delicious home-cooked food, mostly my favourites. The aroma reached my nose and naturally, the corners of my lips twitched upwards into a bright smile. I was at a loss for words. I only stared at the food spread across the table with wide eyes for a while, not uttering a single word.

"Wow," I finally manage to say. "Y'all did this for me?" I asked sweetly as I turned to look at them, a hand placed over my chest.

"Mhmmm..." Nathan drawled beside me, a proud look crossed his face. "I robbed the bank for this."

"Ha ha, real funny."

He laughed. "Alright, I used my savings. You better show me more love." A chuckle escaped my lips upon hearing his response. I scoot over closer to him, nudging him in the side before reaching up to ruffle his dark hair playfully. He would usually pout childishly and attempt to push me away, but this time he only laughed. "And of course, the credits go to mum. She cooked all of these for you," he informed, gesturing to mum who was standing by the table.

"Thank you, mum," I muttered as I walked over to plant a small kiss on her cheek.

"We helped too!" The twins exclaimed and Alexander only nodded beside them.

"Alright, thank you, guys. I really appreciate this," I said with a grateful smile. "Now, shall we dig in?"

                                                                                              ---

"Oh my god! Alexandra?" Chelsea shrieked as she perked up from behind the counter.

"Yes, it's me. The great and amazing Alexandra," I announced, waving around before giving her an exaggerated curtsy.

"Oh my god, it's you! You finally came to visit me! I can't believe this, I missed you so so much!" She exclaimed as she rushed out from behind, making her way towards me and finally embracing me in a tight hug.

I can't help but laugh. "Believe it, it's me," I said and paused a little as I let her hug me tighter. "I missed you too."

"I can't believe you quit. I loved working with you. The new girl sucks," she filled me in, and I could imagine the pout on her face.

I let out a soft chuckle. "I know... I am just simply amazing."

She let me go and looked me in the eyes, her bright eyes boring right through my tired ones. I watched as she quickly glanced at me from head to toe before a small frown started forming on her face.

"You looked like you lost weight," she pointed out, worry laced her sweet voice.

"Ooh that's great! It's what I always wanted!" I joked.

"Hey!" Chelsea called out as she smacked me in my arm lightly. "You are perfect just the way you are," she reassured with a smile to which I returned.
