ASHTONS POV

Avoiding Daisy after yesterday was hard.

She had watched me all day yesterday, hope in her eyes as she waited for me to speak.

But I was too angry.

I was angry at him.

But I was angry at her too.

Why she had believed him I did not know?

But I was going to find out.

As soon as I entered the building I went straight for her.

I had to apologise.

She sat at her desk, her back to me, hunched over her desk.

One hand was on the mouse, the other cupped her chin as she lay her head in her hands.

"Daisy," I called, tapping her shoulder.

She turned to me slowly, a sad smile on her lips.

"Shit, I'm sorry Daisy," I gasped.

I knelt before her and pulled her chair towards me.

"I want to apologise so much for yesterday. I snapped and I'm sorry. Listen to me when I say this, it wasn't your fault okay," I assured her.

"I shouldn't have told you what he said," she whispered, her head hanging down.

She stared at her fingers as they twisted together nervously.

Shit, I was a terrible friend!

I touched her chin with my finger forcing her to look at me.

"You had every right to tell me. I want you to know you can confide in me because we're friends Dase," I promised her.

"But now you're mad at him and it's all my fault," she cried.

The tears began to fall from her eyes and she sobbed.

I pulled her forward, wrapping her in my arms as I pulled her to her feet.

I took her down to the staff room, ignoring all the curious eyes.

I shut the door behind us and sat her on the sofa.

Again, I knelt before her and I took her hands in mine, rubbing the backs with my thumbs.

I tried to soothe her and I waited whilst she let it all out before I spoke again.

"Listen to me. I am mad at Michael. But I've always been mad at him. You didn't change anything. You just confirmed a few things for me," I explained.

She sniffled and I stood, grabbing a tissue from the box on the table.

I handed it to her and she wiped at her tear streaked face.

"I think I should have told you this a week ago, but I didn't and now I regret it," I sighed.

She looked up at me confused, her head tilted to the side.

"What?" she asked.

"Michael lied to you Daisy," I confirmed.

She looked at me with wide eyes.

"He's a compulsive liar Dase. Always has been. He's always making up lies about Calum but this has to be one of the worst. He knows that Calum has some weird feelings towards you, he wants to protect you. And Michael wants to see Calum crumble. He revels in seeing him hurt," I explained.

As I told her all this her face dropped and paled.

Her mouth dropped open in shock and her eyes again filled with tears.
