Chapter 13

CALUMS POV

* Three weeks later *

Three weeks had passed and I had only seen her a handful of times.

She had come to my office to hand in reports but had refused to enter the room.

Instead she had given them to Marley, and I had only known she was there because Marley had spoken to her.

Marley did not like any of my employees, even Ashton.

She had a thing for Ashton but he had turned her down and since then she disliked him immensely.

Daisy was the first person in the whole office besides myself and Luke that she had openly spoken too.

That proved one thing.

Daisy was hard not to like.

Everyone just fell in love with her at first meeting.

Since my last encounter with her when she had shut me down and basically told me where to go, I had tried to forget.

Of course, that did not mean I was over her or moving me.

I was just giving her the space she needed.

I was determined to have her and keep her.

But right now she needed time alone and I could do that.

I had to.

She was my strength when I was weak.

She was my reason for smiling.

And I would not let her go.

I scribbled away at my latest report, happy I was back into my usual routine.

A knock at my door pulled me from my task.

I looked up, pen still grasped in my hand and called to the person outside.

The door swung open and Ashton strolled in, looking rather determined.

He shut the door and stepped further in.

His hand behind his back he began pacing.

"Ashton?" I asked cautiously.

"I have some info but I'm not sure how to say it or how you'll take it," he huffed.

I dropped the pen and sat back, awaiting his information.

This did not sound good.

"I have to say one thing before I tell you okay," he said.

I nodded, holding my breath and preparing for the worst.

He came to the desk and planted his palms flat, leaning towards me.

"Calum, listen to me. You've kept your anger at bay for so long and you've managed to start controlling it. I'm proud of you mate, so proud. But this news may just corrupt that. I need you to take deep breaths and listen. Don't act on this straight away because I have a plan," he explained.
