MICHAELS POV
* The next day *
As I worked in my cubicle, I couldn't help but smile as I thought about what was in store for me today.
I'd finally managed to get through to Daisy and make her see sense.
Now that she had agreed to meet me, alone, I could put those 'rumours' to bed.
I would tell her that Ashton had lied about everything and that if anything he was a compulsive liar.
My phone buzzed on the table and as I picked it up, my grin only got bigger.
From: Asshole
Stay away from Daisy. I do not want you running another of my employees out of their jobI smirked as I read his message.
I'd changed his contact name to Asshole not even that long into the job.
And since four years ago, it had remained as Asshole.
The fact he was acting as if she was just his 'employee' when he clearly wanted to fuck her was amusing to me.
I decided to play along with his game.
From Michael:
I don't run anyone out. It's your choice to fire themI put down my phone, kicked back and waited.
He would reply straight away without a shadow of a doubt.
He was probably sat in his office, hunched over his chair, as he typed back an angry reply.
His face would be all red, steam quite literally escaping his flared nostrils and that big old vein on his neck popping out.
My phone buzzed seconds later and I reached for it.
From: Asshole
I fire them because you mess with their heads. They do not do their jobs to my satisfaction, therefore they are out on their assesMr Hood was trying to act all calm and professional behind his screen.
He was a keyboard warrior no doubt.
He couldn't fool me though.
From Michael:
They choose to focus all their attention on me and not their job. I don't tell them what to do mateI sniggered as I typed that last word, knowing he'd call me up in it.
We were never mates from the beginning and never would be.
My phone buzzed once more and I read his reply.
From: Asshole
I am not your 'mate' Mr Clifford. If I find you even a meter near her, I will not hesitate to fire your ass. You have been warned.Oh, we're back to being formal I see.
I couldn't even be bothered with him anymore, his whole attitude was exasperating.
I would end this, for now.
He'd find out soon enough who she spent her lunch with and I had no doubt that he wouldn't hesitate to come find me.
From Michael:
She's not my typeThose four little words would calm him down for a split second until he found out.
Then he'd blow a fuse and she would see exactly who he was.
If she still stuck around him after he blew, then she would be fucking insane just like him.
