CALUMS POV

I smirked at my phone as her reply came through.

I placed my phone face down onto my desk and shrugged out of my jacket.

I hung it over the back of my chair before sitting.

My hands intertwined together, and rested on top of the desk.

Any second now she would be here and I knew she would be angry.

Almost immediately, the door swung open, cracking against the wall and a very angry Daisy stood in my doorway.

Her plump pink lips were pulled into a thin tight line and her cheeks were flushed.

"Have a seat," I said calmly.

I was anything but calm but I had to act like I wasn't angered.

I waved to the seat in front of my desk, allowing her to sit.

She scoffed as she slammed the door shut but did not sit.

"I'd rather not," she huffed.

"Okay. What can I help you with?" I asked her.

Her eyes narrowed and her face heated even more as she became more pissed.

"Are you being serious right now?" she seethed. "You got your 'friend'," she used her fingers to create air quotes. "To come and get me out of a bar last night and take me home."

I nodded.

"I did," I confirmed.

"That's all your going to say?" she laughed bitterly. "Your not going to explain or apologise."

"I do not need to apologise for anything. I did not do anything wrong," I shrugged.

She stomped towards the desk and gripped the edge with her fingers.

She leant forward, her face close to mine.

Staring into her green eyes, I could feel my heart pounding.

She was so breath taking.

I had to keep a check on my hormones, grab control of the reins and stop myself from launching at her.

Her pink lips were inches from mine and I could smell her perfume invading my senses.

She smelt far too good and far too tempting!

Slightly mouth watering.

"You didn't?!?" she spat. "Oh so dragging me out of a bar, and then firing him wasn't wrong? When he didn't do fuck all wrong himself?"

I grew angered and impatient at the way she defended him.

"I was just trying to protect you," I informed her.

"Protect me?! From what? A friend? Michael didn't do anything wrong," she yelled.

I stood, dusting off my suit and moved around to her.

I wanted to shake her and make her see sense.

He was a jerk and a lying fucker.

"He lied to you Daisy," I yelled at her, slamming my hands on the desk.

She flinched and I suddenly felt bad for scaring her.

"He lied," I said, a little more softly.

"He lied about Ashton and Marley. I already know that. Ashton denied it for me," she sneered.

I bit at my bottom lip as she became cocky.

Her expression was challenging.

Her posture was rigid as she stood tall, clearly not ready to back down.

"So what else have you got Mr Hood. You probably haven't even got proof," she laughed bitterly.

She tossed her hair over her shoulder and stood up tall.

A part of me, a really small part did not want to tell her this.

I did not want to hurt her but she deserved to know how her so called friend was a conniving motherfucker.

I moved back to my desk and pulled up the file Ashton had sent to me.

I played it and his voice resonated through the room.

Her eyes widened, her face paled and her mouth dropped.

I hated seeing her so hurt by him and it made me want to hurt him ten times over.

"He..." she whispered, unable to finish her sentence.

Her shoulders hunched and her lips shook as she was close to crying.

Fuck!

My arms were itching to reach for her and pull her into my chest.

I wanted to hold her tight and tell her much I loved her.

The fact she had not accused me of lying and creating fake evidence was shocking to me.

"You actually believe me?" I asked.

She nodded as she closed her eyes briefly and her hand came up to her open mouth.

"Yeah. I know Ashton was telling me the truth when he denied the lie Michael told me. I was starting to believe maybe Michael was the liar after all. But I was still pissed at you," she sighed.

I turned off the file and closed my laptop and moved towards her.

She held up her hands, forcing me to halt in my tracks.

"I'm still pissed at you Calum," she warned.

"Why baby?" I cooed.

Her cheeks flushed and she looked down at her feet.

Seeing the reaction she had to one word was making me hopeful.

Maybe she did really like me.

Maybe that was why she was so hurt by what I had done and not as hurt by Ashton.

"You didn't need to fire him for lying. You could have just told me the truth, and showed me the file," she mumbled.

She looked up at me through her dark lashes and I felt my heart race.

She was really here now, stood before me and she believed me.

"I am so sorry Daisy," I apologised.

"I know," she sighed. "Can't you just give him his job back? He didn't do anything to me."

She begged me to give that son of a bitch his job back and seeing her so distressed, I was tempted too.

But I remembered why I had fired him in the first place.

I could not have him back here.

I could not have him anywhere near her.

"I cannot do that. I'm sorry angel," I apologised.

This was killing slowly me.
