It'd been at least 3 hours since we had both Tom & Pope working together. Both saying the same things. 'It's dangerous' 'We should be honest'. Yet surely they're keeping things from us. The four of us stayed there and listened to them ranting. They had everyone else outside and protecting the building. I guess I didn't see a problem with them trying to find a good excuse for us not telling them. It was quite amusing. I don't know what was more amusing, Pope actually acting like my father or them two working together either way it was entertaining.

"Are you at all going to tell us what happened?" I looked at the rest of them. We made a vow. Well apart from Hal.

"Well, as entertaining as this is. I think you should ask Hal. Seeing as he's already told you some parts. Ask him. Surely he won't mind telling you everything that happened." Maggie looked at Hal.

"Shut it. You know I did this to protect you. Be grateful someone's looking out for you. Clearly not having a dad before messed you up. As a Mason, as your boyfriends brother and your brothers best friend. I made a promise to protect you no matter what. You can hate it all you want. I don't care anymore. I'm sick of everyone having secrets. It's annoying. It doesn't win the war either way." I stared at him. Was he right? Did not having a dad mess me up? Well I guess we'll never know.

"Look. Enough, I've made peace with Hayley about leaving her and she knows I put up a fight. It was all her grandparents. But still they raised her into the strong young woman as she is. She's so much stronger than all of you. Don't you dare ever make up a stupid excuse for me. I'm proud of the way she's turned out. So are we going to sit her and talk about Hayley's past or are we going to get to the bottom of what is not only threatening my daughter but Tom's two sons and Maggie?"

"I may have found out, what's happening" Weaver walked in. Oh well. It was going to come out sooner or later.

"We found out it was Karen from a witness that saw you guys heading into the woods and got worried. She's after the four of them. Clearly wanting revenge for me killing her. Well that didn't sound right. Me trying to kill her. Which means, there'll be an attack soon. She'll pull out all the stops to get the four of you. If you know any more you have to tell us. It's the only way we can keep you safe. Or close to safe."I looked at my dad. His eyes showed the same emotion my mums did before she died. Loss. I couldn't put my parent through that.

"All we know is that she's after four people. Okay? And that she's worried we'll find her. If that happens she wants us and only us. I don't know why, but she does. So for what ever reason. She needs us. And I don't think it's for a nice friendly catch up."

"Is this true?" Everyone nodded, I could see the dirty looks I was getting from Hal in the corner of my eye. After speaking more about a plan, we were dismissed and left to yet again return to our guardians.

"Do you not trust me? Is that it?" I looked over at my dad. Here we go.

"Why would I not trust you?" He shuck his head. "You left me remember, I didn't leave you. I've tried to remake the name of Pope. People won't have it. Can you blame them? I wouldn't. But no, I do trust you, I trust you with every fibre of my being, unlike some. I just thought I could handle things on my own. I knew what she wanted and I was going to work around it, make a trap. Clearly I'm just a child and not good for anything else." I walked faster and into the cafeteria place. I saw the Mason's and decided to sit with them. Not only to get away from my dad but to be near Ben.

I zoned out of the conversations they were having. I began thinking about if Pope actually did fight for me. But I didn't know because of my mother. Did my mum want to drive us apart for a reason? From the stories people tell me. He's not exactly the nicest person in the world. But I doubt he's the worse person. I wanted to find out everything about him. I think I deserve to have to know why my grandparents drove him away and changed how my mum saw him as a person and a father to her child. That's something I needed to know. He made up a part of me. He was my biological father. I just wish my mum told me about him. I had done so well without him. And suddenly he thinks he can come back and everything is perfect.

"Hey, is everything okay? You zoned out for a minute there" I nodded at Tom and smiled. At least he might believe the smile "You sure? I heard what happened between you and your dad."

"It's just a normal day in the family that's all. Arguments and falling out. That's what you get when you grow up without a dad and he suddenly wants to be part of your life. Sometimes I wish I was given an explanation of why my grandparents drove him away. I just want some answers."

I guess hell better start freezing over. I doubt I'll be getting my answers anytime soon.
