I've been working 7 days a week. Dawn to midnight. Incest, sex assault on a child. But our client is so innocent even the Judge told the DA, "Your case is weak!" Told her twice. Four weeks to trial. Anyway, missed your text till I got home, standing in kitchen, scarfing down leftovers at 2am. Exhausted. I will reply, but distracted until the trial and verdict in June.
Crashing.
NOTE: In spare moments, I have been hunting down lilacs. Hoping to capture the first sprig and send it off to a cute chick in Detroit.

Finally, lilacs!!
Since the time I was riding a bike and delivering newspapers, lilacs are spring. Spring fever. Spring crush. A time when new, urgent questions must be answered like, "Who is she?" "Why have I never noticed her before?" And, "When will I see her in the hallways again, with that hair style that is suddenly very unique and clever, and that skirt that holds my gaze like a live performance of everything that matters and all I've ever wanted, but somehow never realized until she walks by with an armful of books, leaving my irrepressible grin in her wake, bobbing alongside new words like "yearning", which every skinny kid in my condition knows as another word for hunger.
All those memories of spring days and nights are bathed in the perfume of lilacs.
So that's why I like lilacs.

Ceci!! We have a big hole in our court schedule. Stopped cutting my hair for the first time since law school, 1991. It's growing into an Einstein wig. So, I'm going to regularly chronicle my hair. We need this!
