Day Fourteen
Soreness ached throughout his entire body, but his neck hurt the most. At first, Mikey wasn't able to remember what had happened, that was, until he opened his eyes. He was in a cold, dusty stone room, with the only things around him being two steel racks, all lined with a different array of weapons.
Mikey's eyes widened as he noticed another presence in the room. Just like that, memories of how he'd ended up here hit him like a train. The two men that had taken him were across from him, tying down the same man that had tried to run from them earlier. Mikey instantly began to sweat and tried to get up to flee, but he found out quickly that he couldn't - he was tied down, and quite painfully as well.
Despite this, Mikey still began to desperately squirm, his breathing becoming heavy and panicked. The men originally had their full focus on their current victim, but at Mikey's attempt at resisting his bonds caught the attention of one of them. Mikey's eyes widened in horror as the one with the rabbit mask noticed him, and carefully tapped his companion to alert him. Then, he stood and began to approach Mikey.
The words from their first victim earlier revealing these men's intentions rang through his system, repeatedly and relentlessly as he got closer, increasing his panic. They were murderers, and Mikey knew that before long, both he and this innocent person were going to die.
He squeezed his eyes shut as the masked man paused in front of him. He shook pathetically, visible sweat trickling down his face. The unidentified man kneeled down to his level.
"It's unfortunate that you had to witness one of our nightly tasks." He spoke, the same deep voice from earlier proviking Mikey to meet his kidnapper's gaze. However, the he couldn't see anything past the mask. "You do realize what we have to do to you now, don't you?"
"Please," Mikey let out a choked cry, every part of him trembling, his mind ablaze with raw terror. "Don't hurt us- w-we didn't do anything to you!"
"Perhaps not." The man tilted his head slightly, his words flowing out carefully and precisely. A strange contrast to the stuttering mess in front of him. "But I have a craving, peculiar hybrid. One that takes the lives of others to satiate. Despite what you may want, I will have to end both of your lives. His," He motioned to his other victim, which the second man was still attending to. His previously detirmined and desperate eyes were now dull and hopeless; giving in to his fate in knowing there was no way to escape it. "Will go to our needs. Yours, will go to keeping our little secret safe."
"I-I w-won't tell anyone." Mikey gasped, his tight throat barely giving him the air to speak. "Let us b-both go, and we won't t-tell a soul what we s-saw."
"Regardless," The man hummed, sounding firm on his decision. He brought out a knife; a huge, curvy blade, and held it to the side of Mikey's face. "I'm awfully hungry, and you two will do quite well. I'm afraid I'm unable to negotiate when it comes to keeping myself fed."
"What is he talking about? What is he talking about?" Mikey felt himself grow light-headed once he pieced together what he meant by "keeping himself fed." His legs started to lose feeling for a short moment, his skin pale and cold, and he ended up peeing himself without being able to control it. "I'm going to die. I'm going to die. He's going to kill me. I don't want to die!"
"Dude," The second kidnapper scoffed from across the room. Through his hog mask, it was visibly unclear what his face looked like, but his tone of voice made it obvious he was recoiling. "Did he seriously just piss himself?"
"That's a fault of mine." The man with the rabbit mask said, pulling the knife away while Mikey's head fell back and bumped the wall. "I suppose I shouldn't sidetrack myself any longer. Rufus, remove the tape, please."
The man with the hog mask; apparently named Rufus, took the tape off of the other victim's mouth, mumbling "of course, Usagi" as he did so. Despite now being free to say something, he said nothing, continuing to stare off without a direct focus. The man with the rabbit mask left Mikey behind and crouched beside him now instead, using his blade to begin his work.
"No!" Mikey screamed, but before the word could even fully leave his mouth, the man was already being torn into. Despite the attack being violent, it was curated and calculated as well - the knife was cutting through specific areas of his body, intending to reveal certain organs that the perpetrator craved. Mikey saw flashes of intestines being brought out of his body, but the sight didn't last long, as Mikey was already squeezing his eyes shut and looking away as agonizing screaming began to fill his ears.
"I almost forgot," Usagi hummed, so casual it was appalling. "Kill him first, Rufus. I'm not so cruel as to eat anyone alive."
A quick snap was heard, and the screaming stopped. Mikey knew he was crying, but he could barely hear it over the roaring in his own ears.
"I'm next." Mikey thought, hopeless and petrified. "I'm next I'm next I'm next I'm next-"
"I'm starting to pity my little captive." Usagi mumbled, glancing his blood-splashed mask at Mikey from across the room. "Should I put him out of his misery now?"
"Whatever you want to do." Rufus' voice was laced with eagerness and excitement. "He's your prisoner, after all. I'm just thinking of finally being able to have leftovers."
"If I do decide to eat him, then you can have the entirety of this pathetic heap. All of my interest lies within this peculiar hybrid, anyway."
"I say eat him, then." Rufus seemed to beam at what he'd said. The way he wanted Mikey's life thrown away simply for the sake of "leftovers" sent a deep disgust crawling underneath Mikey's skin, but his ability to feel anything would wither away once Usagi, after a long, thoughtful staring session, mumbled "very well."
Mikey had felt this way before. He'd felt it when JJ had pinned him to the wall, screaming and threatening him in a fit of rage from one of his visits with Banana Kid and Carrie. He'd been scared; of course, but that time had been different - his body had maxed out from his stress. He was feeling it again. First his legs went numb, then his heartbeat began to slow, and by the time Usagi was at his side fastening him down, he couldn't even feel his touch. Even when he put his fingers underneath his chin to get what would seemingly be a last look at him, Mikey could barely feel a thing.
If only he'd been able to recognize that the hand grazing his skin was all too familiar.
"I wonder if you'll be as interesting to eat as the banana hybrid I have captive elsewhere." Usagi mused, observing Mikey's physical features intently. "I've tasted him a little bit, and he's absolutely delicious; as sweet as a real banana. Hybirds are so intriguing; their anatomy is just so fascinating."
"Banana Kid!" Mikey realized. He wanted to wail and beg for Usagi not to hurt him, but he was still losing himself. It wasn't long before his body finally spared him his stress by slipping him into unconsciousness.
