It was a few hours before we reached this mysterious village. Like it had been for years, it was abandoned with no sign of life. Houses were crushed leaving only remains, and any farm land had either titan footprints or no crops there. Blood splatters were everywhere showing that there had been a slaughtering of the villagers. No bodies remained however which was rather suspicious. Unless the titans had eaten them all whole, but that wouldn't explain all of the blood splatters..... Something felt off about this situation, however those feelings were pushed to the back of my mind. I'm sure I was over thinking things.

We stopped in the middle of the village to both feed and water our horses. Mike was on the look out for titans as well as a few others from our squad. Mike was one of the best due to his animalistic instincts. He had an excellent sense of smell, sight and had good ears. He was also one of the best fighters out there and was mostly around Erwin somewhere. Due to his skills, we all trusted him to warn us of when any titans were nearby.
"Search the area." Keith Shadis' voice rang out. He too was a man in charge of us, a man of equal ranking to Erwin. Commander Keith Shadis.
"Yes sir!" We all responded in unison, separating off in different directions. I entered a house off to the right which had been ripped in half. Looking around downstairs, belongings were scattered around seeming to have been abandoned in a hurry. Children's toys and smashed photo frames, pieces of wood from the tables and chairs, even rubble from the fire place. All of these were scattered around the place. Some blood was found on the a child's toy and I instantly felt my heart clench. Poor innocent souls. The young, adults and elderly did not deserve to be slaughtered in this way. Walking over to the edge of the flooring for upstairs, I glanced up and wondered if it was possible for me to be able to get up there. Seeing Levi, Hanji and Erwin walk past, I called out to them. They came over curiously, wondering what I was after.
"Somebody, give me a boost up please." I grinned. Erwin seemed amused at my idea, while Hanji shoved Levi closer to me. I knew that she had realise what I had tried to do earlier with Levi, so this was her having my back, in a way. "Levi?" I smirked amused. He rolled his eyes and glared at both Hanji and I, but we just shrugged and gave him an innocent look. He knelt one knee on the floor, looking unhappy that he was dirtying himself. With his fingers threaded together and his hands cupped, he held them out to me. Putting a foot in his hands, he pushed me up until I was able to grab the ledge. Once I had a firm hold, I began to pull myself up. However, I must have crap luck today as while pulling myself up, I failed to notice a sharp piece of wood sticking out which ripped my shirt and cut into my skin. Letting out a curse of pain, I heard the others beneath me worrying. Well I say others...... it was mostly just Hanji. Though Erwin could be heard quietly asking if I was ok as well. "I'm fine. Just a scratch." I called down to them, finally lifting my legs over the ledge and onto the wooden floor. Sitting upright, I lifted my shirt and glanced down, cringing when I saw the wood still in the seemingly big cut. "Woops." I chuckled, nervously rubbing of my neck as I saw the blood coming out of it. It looked like I had been stabbed/sliced with the piece of wood by someone, instead of me being dumb and not looking out for the thing. Ah well. I'd worry about that later.

A pair of footsteps could be heard leaving the torn house however I could still hear the breathing of two people below. Peering over the edge, I saw Hanji and Levi both looking up at me. Their eyes zeroed in on the blood soaking my shirt before widening in shock. Hanji's stayed wide while Levi's quickly narrowed again.
"Are you an idiot?" He asked in a rhetorical kind of way. I rolled my eyes and shrugged.
"I'm fine. Be down in a few minutes." I called back, waving them off and turning round to look around what was meant to be upstairs. It looked to be a bedroom for a couple. A photo sat on the bed of a married couple and a little boy perched on his mother's hip. Running a finger over the picture of the smiling child, I sighed sadly. He was so young, and from the looks of it, so were his parents. Deciding that no clues were found, I walked over to the edge of the ledge and dropped down, landing in a crouched position. A big mistake. Once I landed, a shooting pain went through my side and where my wound was, causing me to fall backwards onto my ass. "Ouch!" I yelped. Hanji offered me a hand which I went to accept when Levi smacked it away and bent down. Pulling my shirt up without a warning, he inspected my wound. "Stop staring you pervert." I huffed in annoyance. How dare he act like he couldn't give too craps about me before then suddenly look like he cared now! Men were confusing idiots.
"Go back to the wagon. Get Petra to sort you out. No more searching for you." Levi instructed simply, standing up and walking out. I stared after him confused and annoyed. What was going through that head of his?.....
"Come on Rin. Let's go see Petra." Hanji chuckled softly, offering me her hand again and helping me up. Shaking her off when she tried helping me to walk, I told her that I was perfectly fine so I walked by myself. We went over to Petra who gasped at the blood on my shirt, then ushered me onto the wagon so she could get a better look. Laying down, I decided to take a nap while she sorted out the wound.
