Waking up in a white room, I groaned and shut my eyes at the bright lights that blinded me. Where was I? Glancing around, there was just me in the room and a machine was hooked up to me. Beep beep. My heart beat was heard from the machine, and groaning, I unhooked the wires from my body. The machine showed that my heart had stopped, but I took no notice as of course it wasn't true. Just as just was about to get up from the bed, the door opened and three children came running in.
"Corporal Rin! Are you ok?" Armin's worried voice asked.
"I'm fine, but what are you three doing here?" Chuckling, I glanced at each one of them. Eren looked embarrassed and so did Armin while Mikasa looked neutral, however her eyes gave away that she was worried.
"What are you doing? You're supposed to be resting." Mikasa pointed out.
"I don't need to be here, see?" I grinned, moving my body around to show them that I was fine. She studied me closely before shrugging.
"You wouldn't let an ugly titan take you down would you?" Eren teased. I laughed and shook my head. Watching the three of them, I felt sad as I was reminded of Anna. It must have shown as Eren came over and pulled at my shirt sleeve. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I smiled reassuringly. "You three just reminded me of someone I'd met." Armin went to say something but Mikasa put her hand over his mouth. He looked at her questioningly but she only shook her head. He seemed to drop it and instead just gave me a warm smile. I raised an eyebrow and smirked in amusement at Mikasa's actions and the way Armin quickly let it go. She must be a very strong girl. That would benefit her in the world we lived in. "Well,I think I had better get out of here quick before my commander turns up." I winked, putting on my boots that were on the floor and heading towards the door. "Lets go then, shall we?" As I exited the door, they all followed behind. We managed to make it out of the hospital with nobody noticing our departure. Though I spoke too soon when footsteps came up behind us and a hand grabbed hold of the top of my shirt.
"Where do you think you're going?" An amused voice asked from behind me. Turning my head round, I saw Hanji standing there.
"You guys better go. This person is dangerous when questioned." I informed them, putting on a fake scared expression. She was only scary when you asked about titans. Do that and she won't ever shut up. "Thanks for visiting though. I'll come see you soon." They grinned and nodded, turning and walking away. Eren waved goodbye so I waved back. "So...... Hanji, what are you doing here?" I grinned sheepishly, turning to look at her.
"Visiting a friend getting treated. Or should I say, who is supposed to be getting treated." She shrugged nonchalantly, though her eyes showed her amusement.
"You should get to that then. Don't want to keep them waiting." I chuckled, trying to get away. However her hand was still grabbing hold of my shirt so it stopped me from moving. "Ah, come on Hanji. I'm fine."
"Whatever you say. I won't save you when Levi or Erwin catch you though." She smirked, her eyes glowing with mischief behind her glasses.
"Good enough for me." I smirked in return. With that settled, we made our way towards our horses. Hanji had kindly brought Raven along, knowing me well enough to know that I would leave without warning. Mounting our horses, we set off at a gallop in the direction of the base.We made it back in good time, so it was only fifteen past twelve by the time we got back to the Base. I found out from Hanji that I had been unconscious for a few days, but I hadn't missed a lot. She told me that after a hard ride, Levi made it back with me in front of him. He seemed to be rather tense when my state was mentioned and when nobody took action to care for me quickly, he became angry and wouldn't take no for an answer. My cheeks flushed upon hearing this and a grin slid onto my face. The bloody sod, he did care. He just didn't wanna admit it. Maybe Eld was right after all......
Sneaking into Hanji's and my room, I collapsed onto my bed and just laid there for a while. Hanji laughed at my actions from the other side of the room. A knock sounded on the door and we both turned to look at it. Hanji looked curious and I winced. Was it Levi or Erwin?
"Hanji's out anyway. Guess I'll drop it off." Petra's voice could be heard from outside the door. It opened and she froze when she saw us. Her mouth dropped open and her eyes widened. "When did you get back, and you! Why aren't you still resting in the hospital?" She demanded. I sighed and Hanji just watched on, her hands raised in surrender showing me that she wasn't taking part in this. She had done her bit, the rest was up to me.
"I'm fine. Seriously. How else would I have ridden Raven alone? I didn't need to be there any longer so I left." I shrugged. She didn't look convinced so I stood up on my bed and did a full flip off of it. She gaped at me before sighing and rubbing her temple.
"You are going to get in trouble for leaving like that you know?"
"Oh, I know." I grinned. She looked at my mischievous grin before a small slid onto her lips. She then broke into a laugh which Hanji and I joined in with. Felt good to be back to normal!
