Chapter 14

While we awaited further orders, Eren began to realise what this whole ordeal was really about. Capturing the female titan and whoever the hell was inside. However, tension began to rise as the rest began to realise that they had not been informed of this.
"I can see why he wouldn't have told the new troops..... But why wouldn't he tell you, when you've all been with the Survey Corps for so long?" Eren questioned.
"Shut up." Oluo ordered him.
"Are you saying the Commander and the Captain don't trust us?" Petra demanded. Strolling over, I placed myself slightly in front of Eren, unsure of how these guys were to react to this knowledge.
"But that's what this means........" Eren stammered.
"Petra, rip out his teeth!" Oluo exclaimed, too much of a wuss to do anything himself. "Swap the back and front teeth when you shove 'em back in!" I glared at Oluo causing him to back away slightly from my murderous glare. Seeing the effect, I smirked and crossed my arms, feeling pleased with myself.
"No. Eren's right." Eld spoke up from his relaxed position against a tree. "I think there was a reason the Commander couldn't trust us."
"Like what?" Gunther asked, a lot more at ease than the other two.
"There's only one reason he wouldn't trust his fellow soldiers." Eld began. This was when I jumped in.
"There's someone who can become a Titan, or a spy helping them, within the Survey Corps." I grinned.
"A spy? Is that possible?" Gunther queried seeming rather shocked at this all.
"At any rate the Commander is certain." Eld agreed. "I'd imagine the only soldiers who were informed on this plan were those who've stayed alive for the past five years."
"Yeah, if that's the reason, I understand." Petra stood down. "Wait, why wasn't Rin informed?"
"Ah..... I may or may not have been asleep when they had this conversation." I grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of my neck as I remembered meeting everyone for the important plan when I had then fallen asleep just as Erwin began speaking. Everyone sweat dropped upon hearing this news and Petra sighed. "Well either way, he's assuming that five years ago, when the first wall fell, a spy infiltrated our ranks, and that's how he narrowed down the possibilities."
"Then..... the spy killed Sonny and Bean?" Eld asked.
"Indeed the spy did. Rotten twits." I scowled. "It's because of them that I had to bloody listen to Hanji crying like that." I tuned out the rest of their conversation and wandered off a bit further off into the forest. Butterflies and other bugs and birds were wandering or flying about causing me to smile. I wasn't keen on bugs, but I liked to marvel at the way they moved around care free.

My peaceful time was soon interrupted by the echoes of a loud and female kind of scream or roar making its way to my ears. The bugs all scattered and birds flew from the tree tops in fright. What the hell was that? The female titan? Calling for help or her own death? Standing up, I made my way back to the others. They seemed equally as confused.

Blue flares were soon fired up into the air not long after. Retreat? Why did we need to retreat? What had happened exactly? Refilling our gas tanks, we began to get ready to start heading back. We began heading through the trees using our Maneuver Gear with Eld teasing Oluo and Petra about peeing their pants on their first missions.
"Ah! Don't say that! What if he stops respecting me?" Petra shrieked.
"Who said he respected you in the first place? Miss pee pee." I teased her, remembering her first mission. She had indeed peed her pants and gotten caught afterwards. I had had to lend her some new clothes when we got back and the others went straight into a bowl of water ready to get washed.
"Idiot! I've killed more of them than you!" Oluo tried defending his honor. Laughing, I clutched at my stomach as we soared through the sky.
"And I've killed more than you. So what?" He glared up at me, annoyed that I crushed his defense.
"Petra! Does that mean it sprayed everywhere while mid-air?" Eren asked shocked.
"Shut up! Do you think you're on a picnic?" Gunther demanded from up front. "We're outside the walls! I didn't piss my pants either, Eren." He added on at the end. A green flare was fired into the air near us and so Gunther stopped to fire a green flare back, to inform who we supposed was Levi, of our position.
