The Strongest Alive (Levi x OC)

Chapter 6

Author's Note: There will be a time skip in this chapter and it'll be following the OVA and the anime. I know it'll be a 6 year jump aha, but hopefully you guys will still enjoy this.

Following the OVA "Ilse's Notebook".

Year 845.

It's been six years since the day I listened in on Hanji's and Levi's conversation. After that, I never heard about it again. Levi and I had progressed quite well and had become good friends like we had used to be. However though that was great success in my opinion, there were bad things that had happened within the six years. More of our men had died on future expeditions, and the sudden appearance of the armoured titan and the colossal titan, life as knew it was destroyed along with the Wall Maria. Human kind had abandoned Wall Maria and retreated to Wall Rose. Although, not all of humanity had been defeated by the titans. The Garrison attended to the supply and defense of the wall, and the youth, now trainees, were learning the techniques and knowledge necessary for killing Titans. The battle had not yet been lost and we were still going on expeditions.

Today was a day we were to go on one of those expeditions. Waking up in the morning, I groaned as I realised what was happening today. As much as I loved killing those ugly things, I also loved my sleep and food. A weight suddenly jumped on top of me causing me to let out a groan and a grunt of pain. Looking up, I glared at Hanji as she sat on top of me with a grin on her face.
"Get up Rin! Time to go see the fascinating Titans!" Her love for titans trumped everything. It could be rather intimidating when she talked about the titans and she droned on for hours if you let her. Anyone who asked for information would soon regret it.
"Get lost Hanji." I groaned, trying to pull the covers up to go back to sleep. Her weight soon disappeared but suddenly I was being yanked out of my bed. Landing on the floor with a thud, I rubbed at my bottom and sighed. "Seriously?"
"Get up RinRin!" She laughed, my new nickname coming up. She had started calling me RinRin a couple of years ago. She had thought that just one Rin was boring, so she decided to call me by using two Rin's. Strange woman.
"Fine!" Reluctantly, I got up and made my way to the female showers to officially wake myself up. This better be worth it.

At the Wall of Trost, the elites of the Survey Corps were lined up in formation. I was at the front along with Levi, Hanji and Mike. Commander Erwin was at the very front, ready to lead us all out. Waiting for the walls to rise and for Erwin to give the instructions to leave, was rather boring. The bell rung and was quickly followed by Erwin's voice.
"Gates open in 30 seconds!" He informed us all in a loud and authoritive voice. "All hands prepare to leave!"
"This is tantalizing!" Hanji groaned from beside me. "Hey, Levi?"
"No." He straight up replied. I chuckled from beside Hanji and she shot me a 'shut up' look.
"I haven't said anything yet." She mumbled confused at his blunt reply.
" 'Help me capture a titan' right? I don't intend to help you with such a hassle." He informed her bluntly.
"How about you, Mike?" She asked, turning to the other man beside us. He simply scoffed and looked down slightly, amused. Hanji sighed before a grin crossed onto her face.
"As always, boring answers from boring men." She mused. "How about you, Rin?"
"Hell yeah I'll help!" I smirked, my eyes going to Levi's who rolled his own in annoyance.
"Yahoo! Got someone on my side!" She exclaimed as the wall began to rise.
"We will now begin the 49th expedition beyond the walls! Forward!" He ordered, his horse neighing and rising his front legs into the air before setting off a gallop. We all quickly followed his lead and galloped along behind him, making sure to stay in formation.
"Yahoo!" Hanji yelled out excitedly as she galloped past Erwin.
"Hanji!" Erwin shouted out.
"Titans! I'm coming to see you!" She grinned, her cheeks red in excitement as she continued forward. I burst out laughing from behind Erwin and I saw other soldiers behind me trying not to laugh as well. Typical Hanji getting excited over the damned things that killed us.
