"Why not?" I said and sat down at my chair, in front of me was a big table with a feather and an ink. Dave sat to the right chair of me and Jacobo Herrera at the left chair. There were guards at every corner of the big hall, and many other next to the Royal Couple.

"Have you commander Jacobo Herrera, of the Royal Spanish Navy, informed Mrs. Williams why-" The general, next to the king said but he was interrupted by me.

"It's Mrs. Kenway. Just for you to know."

"Scarlett!" Dave next to me half whispered half yelled as he knew with one wrong word we might end up dead at the gallows.

"I am very sorry Mrs. Scarlett but your data from your birth says that you were named Scarlett-Maria Williams, born at Edinburg of Scotland. Isn't that correct?" The general asked. I just growled and stared at the floor. "And we want your real data to make a cont-"

"And how do you know I will make a contract with you? So you will be able to back stab me and kill me more easily than hunting me?" I shouted my question as the general was caught off guard.

Even though Dave couldn't understand what we were saying, he just swallowed and looked around nervously to see if any of the guards was going to move. "Have you heard what do we want from you?" The general asked. At that I only lowered my head and gustered him to continue.

"The only thing that we want is for you to stop being a pirate and we will accept you as one of our beloved subject in our Empire."

"Why?"

"Your mother's name is Clara de Rosa, daugher of Roberto de Rosa, former captain of one of the most powerful ship that our Royal Navy had."

"So? I quit my pirate life and live like I belonged here from the time I was born?"

"That, or you can continue rule your ship under the King's and Queen's interests."

"Only that?"

"Only that? I believe it's a very difficult job for-"

"No! I don't mean that. I mean, the only thing that I will earn will be a citizenship for the Spanish Empire? No thank you!" I said and got up from my chair. The last part I yelled it at English so Dave could understand. Not a good choice, because he remained at his chair, as he was waiting for the guards to come and take us. I on the other hand walked towards the door that was at my back to walk away, but two guards stopped me with their axes blocking the door.

"Who said that you would only earn a citizenship. You and your crew will earn thirty percent of the gold you will find at the English Navy's ships or at the pirate ships."

"Forty percent."

"Thirty-five percent. Take it or leave it." A different voice spoke this time and that made me turn my head to see only the Queen of Spain standing up talking at me.

"I'm not taking it then. I will work under your command and your's husband's only with forty."

The Queen just smiled and nodded. "General Blanco. Please give Mrs. Williams the contract to sigh. With forty percent and not thirty-five."

"Yes my Queen!" The general bowed and walked towards Dave and my chair, waiting for me to sit down and sign it.

I took at my hand the feather and studied the contract, about the 'rules' that it had and what I would earn. 'I, Scarlett Williams, the captain of the ship, named Pearl of the North, will have faith and be loyal to my King and Queen of the Great Spanish Empire.' Blah blah blah. Let's see, my crew will remain under my command, along with general Jacobo Herrera. Blah blah blah and the quota, here we are, will be thirty-five percent from the ships that the Pearl will sink. What? They're kidding me right? I thought and let down the pen at it's place and handed the contract over to general Blanco.
