For a few hours Arthur and I were walking all around Malta in hopes that Arthur might remember the location of Vladimir's house. But that made us to ask after we were completely lost.

Two young merchants helped us to find a way. They were selling fish and they were from Poland and a small part in the Russian Empire that was called Lithuania. Both of them were very friendly and nice to have as a company but we were in a hurry so we couldn't stay and talk more.

These two people helped us and found Vladimir's house. It was a normal one, near the market and close to the Spanish Naval base. Something that I wasn't happy about it.

Arthur knocked at the small wooden door and we waited patiently. A couple of minutes passed but no one answered the door and so Arthur repeated his act. A few seconds later the door opened and I muttered, "Finally".

Arthur on the other hand quickly rolled his eyes and said with a inpatient tone in his voice, "At last! What were you doing-" Arthur stopped mid-sentence as he saw at the door a woman with long brown hair.

That woman was wearing a nice lavender dress with blue ribbons. Her long brown hair was neatly half up and half down that way that her eyes were the center of attention. Her lips had a soft type of pink and she had a beautiful smile. She was pretty.

She excused herself and left from the door after she bid her goodbyes to the person inside. Arthur and I looked at each other and we decided to invite ourselves in and went to find Vladimir.

As we walked inside the house, we found a man with shaggy light brown hair playing with a sack of coins while he was leaning at a doorframe. "Poor young woman. Married for only two years and her husband is cheating on her while she is pregnant."

"I don't believe that you said that, did you?" By the time he heard the man's voice, Arthur crossed his hands and a smile made its way to his face.

The man, presumably Vladimir, smirk as he continued to play with the sack. "Are you crazy? She won't step inside here again! Also, her husband paid me to lie to her." The man smiled and that moment I noticed that he had a small fang on the left side of his mouth.

Arthur and the man hugged each other. Yeah... He's Vladimir... I thought and Arthur said with pride in his voice, "Always cunning Vlad. You didn't change at all".

"Indeed," Vladimir said as he got freed from the hug and then he turned at me, "I presume you're Ms Kenway right?" Vladimir asked and I nodded.

"Nice meeting you at last Mr Vladimir-"

"Oh please" Vladimir cried and threw the sack behind his back, hearing it as it thumped somewhere. "Just call me Vladimir or Vlad. Arthur's friends are also mine." Vladimir said and motioned us to follow him. "Except if his jealous." He exclaimed for fun with a mischievous smile and Arthur rolled his eyes and I laughed.

Arthur jealous? Probably... But not the way I want him. This phrase was repeating inside my mind but not for too long. Only a couple of months.

Vladimir led us to a room which had a round table at its center and wooden chairs around it. Arthur sat down while I was observing the room. Vladimir had three bookcases full with books with strange titles and in some languages that I haven't even seen in my life. The room had dim lights as his dark curtains were in front of every window inside the room, making the atmosphere a little mysterious.

After my little observation Vladimir gestured me to sit opposing Arthur so he could sit between us. As I sat in at the chair, Vladimir quickly took my hand, also earning a gasp from me, and Arthur's hand, as fast as Vladimir's movement, went to his pistol. "Easy Arthur..." he said lowering his hand for Arthur's pistol and opened my palm, "I just want to see the following years". He stated and Arthur relaxed while I raised an eyebrow.
