"Now where shall I hide you, hmm?" I murmured to myself as I was looking for a place to hide my half of the map. "Somewhere that no one will think about looking there." I continued and walked up and down inside my cabin, burning my head. No one will should know where it is hidden... Not even Dave should know where I hid it.
Some minutes passed and my map was still on my hand and I was thinking for every possible location. Then it hit me when my eyes went to a samurai sword that Kiku had given me a long time ago. As I opened the glass very carefully and getting one of the two swords outside, I drew it a little and then curled the map around the sword. After I did that, I sheathed the sword again with care and put it back to it's place.
Like it was never moved... I thought and smiled proudly. After that I walked at my desk, on it's surface was only one map, the map of the far North. Well there were only four maps, the one from Singapore to the southern point of Africa, the second was from that cape to the end of Africa, northern point. The third map had the part of the Atlantic Ocean were it was connected with the Europe's countries like Great Britain, Portugal, Spain and France. After that the fourth and rarely used map was the map for the northern countries. It was detailed like any other but more complex as we had to watch for ice and their pirates, vikings.
God! How much do I hate them. They are always with beard, they always talk about Valhalla and Odin and when they are going to start the next trip. It wasn't like I hated them, but in my mind when I heard vikings it appeared this image.
I sat at my desk to see for myself about our journey, how long it will take for us to be at our destination. As my navigator, Eric, had calculated it will take around six months. Six months at the ocean with captain Kirkland with us. I planned where it would be a good stop to supply ourselves. One stop was at Portugal's most famous port, looking at the Atlantic Ocean. One other stop it would be at Wales or better Ireland. From there we could go Scotland but as much as I would love to, I wouldn't go to these waters again as I was afraid of meeting Williams there.
A knock was heard at my door and when it opened it revealed Alice with a smile on her face features. "I believe it's time for your lunch captain. You haven't eaten anything from yesterday this time, so it would be best for you to eat something." Alice said and closed her door behind as she came inside and sat at my bed.
I just sighed, knowing that she was right. "I know Alice, but I'm not hungry. It's just that I'm very anxious about the treasure and about those who we will meet there. You remember Mathias right?" I asked her and she laughed a little.
"Yeah I remember him. They have adopted the meaning of pirate of ours, don't you think?" She asked and she made me think. They weren't the pirates that their countries were used to. They were dressed and acted just like any other pirate I've seen in my life. They didn't have beards, or were sailing only to raid, and of course their ships' peak wasn't shaped like dragon, even though the figure head of one's ship was a dragon.
"Yeah they have. Maybe because of their trips at the west." I said and tried to remember my first encounter with them. It was a very complicated one. I was after a specific pirate captain the year I became a captain and I met them, or more likely attacked them, thinking they were his friends. But it turned out they had never heard of him.
"Anyway Scarlett..." Alice said jumping from my bed to me taking my hand. "...come on. You have to eat something and now."
"Fine mother..." I said and sighed bored as this was common between us. When the door opened I saw my men being at their post, doing their job as always. The sun was straight upon us, meaning it was noon, and there was a ship sailing next to us with it's British flag to be moving at it's wind and it's Jolly Roger not to be revealed. Kirkland... I thought and followed Alice as she was leading inside the kitchen.
