Chapter 17

"Scarlett Kenway huh? Only that? Your outfit says more than your words." Antonio had a point, I realised that when I looked at what I was wearing. Like I was still the pirate captain of the Pearl and not the Spanish King's dog.

"You're right to that. Let me try again. Captain Scarlett Kenway. Captain of the Pearl of the North. What about you? Your clothes say something else too."

Antonio just chuckled and replied. "True, true. Antonio Fernandez Carriedo. Captain of the Atlantis' Wrath."

We continued to talk until the set of the sun. I, at that day, learnt more things for Carriedo than I could imagine. But the prize was not only spending my coins at the bottles to make his mouth to open. But I used one more way that Herrera couldn't, I gained more informations about himself with a way that only a woman could.

Days passed and so Carriedo had to leave. Not waiting, I set sail with my ship and we went behind him with two more ships following us, as we had called for reinforcements after I learnt he had some other ships around here. When we found him one day near a shore, on an inhabitant island, after days of tailing him, we statred to battle. At first he was taken back as he saw me being with the Royal Spanish Navy, but he didn't hesitate to fight back and attack me.

"You're kidding me right Kenway? We must follow him and destroy him once and for all! It's their-"

"I don't fucking care whose orders are Jacobo! Look at your men! They are wounded and beyond exhausted. We can't follow them." I interrupted Jacobo who was yelling at me, because I didn't order the crew to follow Carriedo. "Both of us lost many men and some ships. He has as many men he must have to set sail so we-"

"Then we must go after him before we lose him a-" He stopped and fell backwards grabbing his jaw. I looked down at him as I stood in front of him.

"Shut it Herrera! You are in my ship and you are following my orders!" I said as my knuckles turned white.

"You whore. You don't know what does it mean, leaving someone like him alive."

At his words I pulled out my pistol aiming at him. "If you dare say something like that again, I will not hesitate to decapitate you and sent your head to your King. Is that clear?" I shouted at him, gaining the crew's attention. "Everyone back at your post and attend your wounds. And tomorrow we will follow Carriedo." I yelled my commands and went towards my quarters to treat my cuts from Carriedo's axe.

Four days passed after that and we found Carriedo, or better Carriedo found us. Our ships stopped and the men from his ship jumped at mine ship and the opposite. I went to Carriedo's ship, to reciprocate his kindness as he came the last time at mine ship. When I found him we fought and no one of our crew dared to meddle in our fight.

"I never thought that you would be with the Spanish Navy. It would suit you better being a pirate you know Letty." Antonio chuckled and his axe went towards my head.

"Thank you very much, Toni. Don't forget I was a pirate. And believe me, I could understand every word you were saying in Spanish." I said as I dodged his attack.

"Really? You don't say huh? The pain in the ass was Herrera, right?"

"You are a bloody genuis, my Toni." I said ironically and ran towards him, my cutlass aiming to his chest. "And if my plan goes as planned, I will kill him and then I will be free to roam the seven seas and explore the far away lands."

His axe then blocked my attack and this brought us very close, so close we could see each other's sweat. "Then what about we form an alliance?" Antonio whispered so I was the only one who could hear him.
