Yushiro rolled his neck slowly, soft cracks echoing in the empty hallway as he stretched out the stiffness. No rush in his step. No sound in his movements. Just a quiet shadow gliding through Blue Lock's sterile corridors.
He pushed the training room door open without a single creak, stepping inside like a breeze nobody noticed. His steps made no sound, his presence blending right into the air.
His eyes swept the room, sharp and unreadable.
Raichi, Barou, and Reo were pounding up the stairs on the far side, legs pumping hard, sweat dripping down their faces like rain. They looked like they were trying to outrun their own limits.
He glanced to the right.
Bachira, Chigiri, and Isagi were on the floor, sitting in a loose triangle, talking about something, voices low and relaxed. The energy around them was light-like the tension of training had just started to fade.
Yeah, morning drills were almost done.
Yushiro drifted over to them, silent as a breath. Not one of them noticed the figure slowly approaching from behind. He stopped right behind Isagi head tilting slightly as he leaned in just close enough to whisper near his ear.
"Boo."
Bachira practically flew a foot in the air, letting out a squawk that didn't even sound human.
"WHAT THE-!?" He spun around so fast he nearly smacked Chigiri in the face. "Yushiro! Dude! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!"Chigiri had half-stumbled backward, eyes wide and hair whipping around.
"WHERE did you even come from!? I swear you just spawned!"Reo, from across the room, actually tripped on a stair when he caught the commotion.
"Did someone scream? "Baro didn't even turn around. He just muttered under his breath, "Tch. Weaklings. Scared of shadows."
Yushiro, deadpan as ever, just tilted his head and smiled with the most innocent look possible.
"Aw, why so jumpy? I just said hi."He crouched next to Bachira, who was still recovering, holding his chest like a dramatic little actor.
"I-I saw my life flash before my eyes," Bachira mumbled. "And it was mostly soccer and snacks."Chigiri narrowed his eyes. "I swear if you weren't so silent, you'd be less terrifying."
Yushiro smirked, clearly amused but keeping it low-key. "Guess being invisible has perks."
As soon as Yushiro leaned down-close, way too close-Isagi felt his breath catch in his throat.
The words hadn't even left Yushiro's mouth yet, and Isagi's heart was already hammering like it was trying to punch its way out of his chest.
That voice. That stupidly calm, low whisper right by his ear."Hey," Yushiro murmured.
Isagi flinched hard.
His whole body stiffened as if he'd been hit by lightning, and his face? Yeah. Instantly lit up red. Not just the cheeks-ears, neck, even the damn nose.
He felt it burning and he hated it because he knew Yushiro would notice. But when he turned, that smug bastard was already gone, just standing nearby like nothing happened.Isagi's heart kept thudding painfully loud. He looked down, tried to focus on his hands, his breathing-anything.
Don't look at him, don't look at him, he'll know.
Bachira leaned in, mischievous grin creeping in. "You okay, Yoichi? You look like a tomato."
"I'm FINE," Isagi snapped, too fast. Way too fast.
