The announcer’s voice boomed across the stadium, smooth and upbeat:"So far, it’s Blue Lock who’s taken the lead! With the first half ending in their favor, you’d think the tide’s turning—but hey, this is Japanese football. Anything can happen in the second half!"
Then, with a sudden spike of excitement in his tone:
"And here we go—second half is kicking off!"
Down in the tunnel, Isagi cracked his fingers and gave his shoulders a light roll. He walked out alongside Rin, both stepping into the roaring stadium lights.
Rin’s expression darkened for a second. His eyes narrowed at someone on the U-20 side. He scoffed under his breath.
“Tch. So they brought him too… That cockroach bastard.”
Isagi turned his head, a little curious—until his eyes landed on a familiar face, and they went wide.
“…Ryusei Shidou?”
His pulse skipped.
He’s playing…? That maniac is really on the field?
And as if summoned by his name, Shidou turned—like he felt the insult. He locked eyes with Rin, a twisted grin crawling across his face.
"You say something, princess?" he growled, sauntering toward them with that unhinged swagger, all smug chaos and delinquent vibes.
"Look at you," he added, eyes flicking over Rin, "acting all feral lately. Guess someone’s trying to be a tough guy."
Then he leaned in slightly, voice low and mocking.
“But let’s be real—there’s only room for one apex predator on this field.”
He smirked.
“So how about we settle who’s number one, Rin-chan?”
Isagi stood frozen between them, watching the tension practically crackle in the air. This was a powder keg, ready to blow.
But Rin? He barely flinched. He stared back coldly, hands in his pockets like Shidou was nothing but a bug under his shoe.
“Took you long enough,” he muttered. “I was getting bored. Maybe setting this match on fire is exactly what I need.”
Then, in a voice like ice, he added:
“And maybe snapping those long, greasy antennae of yours will finally shut you up.”
A vein pulsed visibly in Shidou’s temple, his cocky smile twitching.
“I’m gonna crush you, eyelash boy.”
And just like that—the stage was set for chaos.
Isagi took one step away from Rin and Shidou like he’d just realized he’d wandered into the wrong anime genre.
Sweat rolled down his temple like his face was trying to evacuate before things got violent.
"Okay… and this is where I pretend I didn't see anything."
He side-stepped like a crab, hands slightly up in surrender, muttering under his breath,
"Nope. I don’t get paid enough for this. Oh wait—I don’t even get paid."
