I woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs.
A smile spread across my face when Niall soon appeared in the doorway, a tray in his hands.
"Mornin'," he said, his morning voice deep and groggy.
"Good morning...What's all this?" I smiled, sitting up.
He gave me a weak smile, setting the tray on my lap before sitting beside me.
"An apology for last night. I never ever meant what I said. I love ya, Ronnie. And I'm never goin to leave ya. And I-I never want ya to leave me, either..." He trailed off, placing his hand on mine.
My heart ached.
I loved him, and I felt the same way.
"I love you too, Ni. I'm not leaving. I never will. And... I'm sorry about last night too. I over reacted about the whole, kids thing. It was a stupid fight. Can we just... Pretend it didn't happen?" I asked.
He smiled, leaning in and pecking my cheek. "'Course we can. Now eat. I took care of the kids!" He smiled.
I raised an eyebrow, finding it hard to believe he had anything to do with the kids.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
He smiles, rolling his eyes. "They're both eatin' in their high chairs, calm down will ya. Relax."
I nod, smiling with relief and quickly digging into my food. I had no idea Niall was such a good cook, or else I'd have had him make me something every meal... This was almost as good as Maura's breakfasts I'd grown so accustomed to having.
After eating and getting dressed, Niall and I decided to take the kids to the park.
"You silly girl!" I spoke, in the best baby-voice I could muster.
Emily giggled, looking up at me with warm eyes.
I smiled, pulling her close and looking up at Niall. He was pushing Theo on the swings, quite unhappily I might add.
Theo smiled big as his favorite uncle pushed him, however, Niall began to get a bit rough, pushing the swing higher and higher. Quite frankly, I think he'd either completely forgotten what I'd said last night about being nice with the kids, or he'd just decided to ignore me.
Emily began to get curious at what I was staring at, fussing in my arms to turn around. I loosened my hold, allowing her to turn her head. The minute Niall came into view, a big smile graced her chubby little face.
She reached out, babbling, as if to get Niall's attention.
I frowned, holding her close.
"Sorry, sweetie. He doesn't like kids much, apparently. Although, why he wouldn't like you, I have no idea why."
She turned back around to face me, a deep frown etched into her little face.
I stood, carrying Emily over to where Niall and Theo were.
Niall looked at me dully, huffing out an exasperated breath.
"Can we please go? I don't like the idea of people seein' me push a two year old kid on the swings..." He trailed off, looking around worriedly as if he might get caught.
I rolled my eyes at how pathetic he was being.
"Alright, we can go in a little bit. But let's let the kids run around a little before we go. Maybe it'll wear them out and they'll take a nice nap when we get home," I suggested.
Niall huffed, lifting Theo out of the swings and placing him on the ground.
We walked to a small bench, setting down the kids in the soft grass before plopping down on the seat.
