I sat up in bed the next morning, gasping for air. I looked around the room, panting... only to find that I was alone. I knew it... I knew that everything that had happened last night was all a dream...
I pulled my knees up to my chest, burying my head in them as I began sobbing. I fucking knew it...
"Ronnie!?" A voice called, footsteps following soon after. I gasped, looking up as Niall came in from the other room. "Baby, what's going on? Are you okay?"
I stared at him blankly, the tears falling down my cheeks. "It... it wasn't a dream!? You're alive!?"
He smiled softly, walking over and scooping me up in his arms. "No, of course it wasn't a dream. Everything that happened last night was real. I'm real," he sighed, kissing my cheeks.
I nodded, resting my head on his shoulder as I continued to cry. He frowned, pressing kisses to my forehead. "Hey... Hey, Ron, it's alright. I'm not leaving you... I'm right here," he cooed.
"I know," I muttered, "I'm just emotional. This past week has been hell without you."
He smiled softly, lifting my chin and taking my lips in his. He kissed me slowly, holding me tightly in his arms. I wrapped my arms around his neck, as he laid me down on the bed, resting his weight on his hands as he laid atop me. He slightly pulled away, moving to kiss along my cheek and jaw. "I told you last night... I'm never leaving you again," he whispered, pressing a kiss to my nose.
"I know," I whispered, looking up at him. "I'm sorry, Niall."
"For what?" he frowned, petting my cheek.
"For not believing what you said. For running away from you, for everything. All of this was my fault. You risked your life for me, Ni...No one who has the guts to cheat would do that. That was pure love."
He smiled sweetly, nodding. "I do love you. I'm madly in love with you."
I smiled softly, sniffling. "I know. I love you too. A-and I know that Kate was lying too. I know that even though you might've still had feelings for her, that-"
"I never had feelings for her. Not once since I've been with you. You are my life, Ronnie. My life revolves around you, and you only," he interrupted, looking at me with a serious expression.
I nodded, pulling him closer and hugging him tightly. "Okay," I whispered, closing my eyes contently.
He held me tightly, kissing my cheek softly. "You better get up. It's Friday, you've got an 11 o'clock class."
"I don't care. I'm skipping. You're skipping. I just want to spend all day in here with you."
His head shot up, a devious smile on his face. "You, Ronnie Carter, ditching class!? And not even for a good reason, but to be with your criminal of a boyfriend!? Oh my..." he teased, kissing my nose.
I smiled for the first time in days, giggling a little. "Oh, quiet you," I smirked, pulling his head down and kissing him deeply. He hummed against me, rubbing the side of my hip. "Oh," I spoke, pulling away abruptly, "And that's fiancé to you."
He rolled his eyes, leaning back down and kissing me deeply as I laughed against him.
A few hours later I found myself laying on top of him on the couch as we watched the television.
"Can we please just make out or cuddle or something? I don't want to watch this," I whined, looking up at him with puppy dog eyes.
"Ron, please can you just let me watch this? I've been in the hospital, in life threatening conditions, for 2 weeks, and I haven't watched a god damn movie in forever. I just wanna relax," he huffed, holding me close.
