Chapter 27: Chariot To The Heavens

Jolted and shaken around by a continuous rumbling, the elf Oka opens her eyes with the biggest headache. Her head pounding, Oka brings herself up groaning. Seeing her surroundings, she was in some dark cave covered by...webs?

Suddenly hearing the numerous tapping of feet behind her, Oka turned and saw numerous red eyes staring back. Screaming at the top of her lungs shuffling back hitting the hard cave wall, Oka raises a hand about to unleash a wind attack! Rushing over from another part of the cave after hearing the scream, Julius hurriedly grabs her wrist and points it upward away from the Taratect! Panicking in a dark mysterious place with such a monster, Julius grabs Oka's shoulders attempting to calm her.

Julius: Miss Filimos, calm down! You're safe...

Shun's elder brother the Hero here, his presence reassured and calmed Oka. Looking at the monster spider in the corner still wary of it, it wasn't being aggressive or showing any malice. Hearing other groans and a agitated "What the hell-?!", to her side Oka saw Hugo, Shun, and Yuri close by also waking up with headaches. Following behind Julius going around the Greater Taratect, the remaining members join them ecstatic.

Sue: Brother!

Katia: Oka! Your awake!

Running over to hug them happy with them awake, Fei was in the back cautiously looking out the cave as the rumbles and sounds of fighting continued.

Fei: Oh wow, NOW they start waking up! This would be great if we weren't in the middle of a warzone!

Not quite all there just yet, Oka struggles to make sense of her situation. Coming back to her with Dornar's assault on the Academy and the Tsunami of monsters chasing them, Oka first priority was clear.

Oka: Did-is everyone safe and ok? Wait, where's Ryuka?

The big and very hard to miss dragon gone, as Oka asked what happened to him, outside the cave a big shadow was racing toward them! Fei running away screaming "Get Down-!!", an object bulldozes into the cave sending her flying! The Greater Taratect shooting a web catching the small earth wyrm, it lets her down safe as they moved forward to form a defensive wall.

Smashing into the cave where they were kept hidden, mechanical machine sounds could be heard as a tall imposing figure rose. Turning towards them stomping with it's 4 legs, a elf Gloria machine of war scans the darkness and sees them. Targets found powering up, the Greater Taratects guards extend their fangs towards the machine! Stepping closer aiming it's arm guns and shoulder cannons, a big armored Arch Taratect stabs into the Gloria! Banging it against the wall, the Taratect raises another leg and stabs deep into the machine's core! Hitting vital components, before it loses function the Gloria aims a barrel gun towards the spider's head and fires! Point blank going through it's skull and brain, the Arch Taratect dies instantly and both the colossal figures crash down unmoving...

The Greater Taratects rushing around to seal the cave with webs, the recently woken members were understandably shocked. The huge Taratect corpse and large unknown machine laying there for all to see, Julius turns to Oka with a serious expression.

Julius: An army of Taratect monsters and their leader found and helped us. A huge flying fortress appeared and started dropping hundreds of these...things. They said it belonged to the elves...

All eyes turning to her with the mention of the machines coming from her people, Oka shakes her head furiously.

Oka: Those things, I-I've never seen them before! You have to believe me! I had no idea they existed!

The rumbling and sounds of intense fighting outside continuing, Fei frustrated jumped in front of Julius wondering if interrogating her was really their first priority right now!
