"Hey Alex" Joey greeted, entering my bedroom. My eyes diverted from my computer, meeting his own while he stood in the doorway.

"Hey Joey" I smiled, shutting my computer off, deciding to finish my school work later on.

Joey stepped further into my room, and almost fully closed the door.

"So uh, your dad wanted me to tell you that we're heading out to Iowa early in the morning. And Stephanie wants you to know that she finished dinner"

I nodded.

"Okay, thanks. I'll be there in a minute"

He nodded and exited my room. I squealed quietly.

I always wanted to go to Iowa, knowing that that's where my mom and dad met. My mom always told me she would take me one day, but we could never afford it. So, she told me that if I ever got to go and she wasn't with me, to visit a certain place, the place where she and my dad met.

It was quite sad, my mom. She always loved my dad, and always would, but he had found someone different.

But, my dad was happy, so she was too.

I pulled myself from my thoughts and stood from my sitting position, heading to my open bedroom door. Closing it, I continued on my way downstairs, eventually sitting down next to Stephanie when I walked into our dining area.

"So, Des Moines, huh?" I asked, referring to our apparent trip.

"Yep. Home town" my Dad smiled. I nodded and continued eating whatever it is that Stephanie made.

We sat in a silence, that felt to be awkward, but was pushing to be comfortable. Unfortunately, it seemed to be failing.

"So, uh. How've you guys been these days? We don't talk much anymore" I chuckled nervously.

I noticed my dad and Stephanie glance at each other, sharing an almost guilty look. My head instinctively tilted to the left, choosing to ignore it and look to the others.

"Well, I guess we've all just been adjusting, y'know?" Shawn stated. I nodded in understanding, and continued eating the food.

When I finished, still nobody had spoken, so I stood and left the table without a word.

Once I was sat in my room again, I placed my head in my folded hands, and exhaled a large breath of air.

"Iowa, here I come" I sighed. "Finally"

Stephanie's POV

Corey and I shared a glance at Alex's question. We both knew it would hurt her, but we just couldn't break it to her. Not yet.

To say I was guilty would be an understatement. Corey, he was the same, too. When we found out, we cried out of both sadness and happiness.

We weren't really sure how she would react, but we assumed it would either be good or bad. No in between.

Alex tilted her head in what seemed like confusion, and continued to listen to whatever Shawn had to say.

There was an awkward silence floating around the table, and it was clear that Alex didn't enjoy it. I chose to try and ignore it, but before I could even look back down to my plate, she pushed back her chair and rushed upstairs.

Corey sighed and rubbed his temple, earning glances from each of the guys. I placed my arm over his shoulders and looked to the other side of the table.

"We'll explain soon" the guys nodded, soon dispersing into the living room.

"Let's go pack I guess" I suggested. Corey nodded, and we soon went and packed, then fell asleep for a few hours.

Alex's POV

I awoke to my body bouncing ever so slightly. My eyes pried themselves open, to see my dad carrying me outside.

Oh yeah, we're going to Iowa.

I groaned, causing my dad to look down at me.

"You can go back to sleep. I'm just putting you in the car" he stated, shooting a slight smile down to me as we reached the car. I smiled and nodded, drifting back off to sleep when he placed me in my seat between Sid and Mick.

I wasn't actually able to catch any sleep, due to the constant moving of Sid. Apparently, when I had fallen asleep, my head fell upon his shoulder, and this whole time, his shoulder was itching. So, he was continuously shivering and moving his arm, trying to get some relief.

Eventually, I had enough, so I let him scratch his shoulder, and fell back asleep on Mick instead.

But, I still didn't get even an hours sleep in, for my dad was done driving, and him and Shawn were trading spaces.

I groaned and gave up on the idea of sleep and pulled my phone out of my hoodie pocket. Plugging in my ear buds, I scrolled through my music library until I came across System of a Down.

My mind wandered off as the music poured into my ears. I saw all of the guys talking, but chose to ignore it as I was more interested in music.

Without me noticing, all heads turned in my direction, with the exception of Shawn, of course. My eyebrows furrowed as I yanked an ear bud out of my ear.

"Yes?" I inquired.

"There are only four bedrooms where we're staying, so you'll have to room with me and Stephanie"

I nodded, not having many problems with it. I ran my casted hand through my hair and decided to attempt sleep once more, this time succeeding.

"Hey, c'mon Alex" a voice whispered in my right ear. My eyes fluttered open to meet Stephanie's smiling face.

She held a hand out to me, which I gladly accepted, and pulled me out of the car.

I noticed my bag laying in one of the seats, so I grabbed it, slug it over my shoulder, and followed Stephanie to the large house.

Once we had entered the house, I took note of how big it actually was. There was a large living room that you immediately stepped into, decorated with black and white furniture. My eyed scanned each room as we passed it, until we reached the largest room that my dad, Stephanie, and I would stay in.

I shakily placed my bag down in a corner, due to my hand being sore from sleeping on it, and turned to my dad and Stephanie hugging.

I smirked and turned back to pulling my charger out to plug my phone in, and eventually hopped down the steps to the living room the guys lounged around in.

Placing myself in a black recliner, I rubbed my face tiredly and spaced out while the guys chatted about our plans.

I only left my zoned out state when I heard my dad announce something.

"So uh, Steph and I have some news..." He started. Everyone's attention diverted to the two of them, and a nervous feeling bubbled in the pit of my stomach.

Maybe this was the foreboding I felt earlier...

"I-I'm pregnant" Stephanie managed to say with a smile.

Oh great, I was right.
