"How's my favorite Alex?"

I rolled my eyes at Tom. "I'm the only Alex you know. I best be your favorite."

He laughed and started pulling out of the parking lot of my apartment building. He decided to pick me up instead of me heading over.

"So what made you change the time from nine?" He asked. I sighed.

"I saw my dad today."

The car jerked. I threw my hands on the dashboard. "Dude!"

"Sorry. You saw Corey?"

"That's what I said."

He continued to drive until I realized he was taking me to his place. Huh?

I decided not to question. "He kept apologizing and then he just disappeared upstairs and never came back down."

Tom gave me a side glance. "Wonder why."

I shook my head.

We sat in silence for awhile. I noticed he kept driving past the same places.

"Uh, Tom?"

He hummed in response.

"You're driving in circles."

"Yeah."

I began to get really confused. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. 7:43.

I watched the same scenery pass us again. "Can I ask why you're driving in circles?"

He stayed silent. "Tom?" More silence.

I pulled my phone really close to my face to block the screen from him. Pulling up Steph's contact, I began to type a message.

To Stephanie:

  Toms kinda freaking me out.

The same buildings continued to fly by us. I snuck a glance over at him to see his eyes hard and not leaving the road. My phone vibrated.

It happened extremely fast. My hands went to grab my phone when the wind was knocked out of me. The air around me seemed to close in and I felt my body jolt from the seat. Pain shot throughout my entire body, and my vision turned black.

- Corey's Point of View -

I sat on the edge of Alex's old bed with my head in my hands. Thoughts raced in circles, the same questions were above all though. What kind of apology greeting was that? After these years, that's all I could say, that's all we could get out to each other? She's my child, and that's what we had to say after all this time?

I was taken from my thoughts when Stephanie ran into the room. She was frantic, throwing shoes on and yelling at me to do the same. I obeyed, asking her what happened. She was putting me in a worried state.

"Alex texted me and I don't know if she's okay."

I perked up a bit more at that, following her downstairs. "Wait what did she say?"

"Actually, no. You stay here with the kids"

"Stephanie." I said, following her. She didn't reply. "Steph!"

She ran out the door, leaving me with the kids. I sighed and debated getting them into a car and following her. No, they could be put into danger. But then again, Alex could be in danger right now.

I groaned and tugged at the hair atop of my head. I pulled out my phone and called Alex.

The line rang for a minute before someone picked up. It wasn't Alex.

"Hello? Is Alex there?"

"Are you Mr. Corey Taylor?"

"Yes?" I paced in a circle.

"Your daughter is Alex Brooke Taylor, correct?"

"Yes now who are you and why do you have my daughter's phone?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the call. "I'm sorry to tell you, but your daughter was just found in the scene of an accident. I'd advise that you make your way to the nearest hospital. "

My heart stopped. I heard the hospital name and wasted no time in getting the kids into my car and speeding off. My vision was blurry, my hands shaking. I thought to tell Stephanie, but I had a strong feeling she already knew.

Driving at a normal speed would've gotten me to the hospital in about ten minutes. At this moment and time, I got there in four. Stephanie was getting out of her car when I pulled into a visitors space. She had tears running down her face as she got Aaron, while I got Jackson and Michael. We ran in, yelling Alex's name until we were directed to the room she was held in.

The sight in front of me was enough for my knees to buckle. Nearly ten doctors were gathered around my daughter. I couldn't see her, but I knew it was fatal.

Two nurses directed me and Steph to seats and began to explain what had happened.

"She was found about twenty feet away from the scene. She went through the windshield.."

My vision blurred again. Hot tears rolled down my cheeks while the ringing in my ears blocked the sound of the nurse's voice.

"I'm really sorry. We'll keep you updated with anything about her."

With two of my boys on either knee, I pulled them, Steph, and Aaron closer to me. The boys looked at me and Stephanie in our broken states, looks of confusion and worry written on their faces. Stephanie buried her face in my chest before telling me she told the guys.

As if on cue, six pairs of footsteps came towards us. I looked up. There stood the rest of the band, looking in shock at the scene going on in Alex's room. They all gathered around me, Stephanie, and the boys, exchanging hugs as the came. Joey sat next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Dude, I-"

I shook my head. "I can't lose her." I sobbed. "Not for real."
