Four weeks later.
I stir slightly in my sleep, nestling my head back into the pillow. Something soft, soft and warm flutters against my cheek, and then my neck, moving down slowly. Its Gary.
I lift my hand slowly, running it up along his back and into his hair as I slowly open my eyes.
"Merry Christmas Baby." I feel Gary smile against my jaw. "Wake up." He whispers softly.
I moan slightly into the pillow. "I need more sleep Gary." I smile, closing my eyes again, twisting my fingers gently into hair.
"But Lib it's Christmas!" Gary sits bolt upright in bed and turns around to look at me. "You have to get up early on Christmas!" He genuinely is like a little child. Man he's so cute.
"Gary." I whisper trying to ask him to leave me alone. Im so exhausted. I hear Gary sigh and flop back down under the covers, positioning his head slightly under mine so he can look at me.
"Feeling shit again?" He gives me an understanding smile, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, before stroking his hand down my arm. I not slowly, dropping my head further down onto his chest.
"It'll be worth it." Gary whispers, his fingers drawing slow gentle patterns on my bump as he kisses my temple. "I promise."
"Ive got a scan on Thursday." I mutter. "You coming?"
"Stupid question Libby." Gary half laughs. We lie in silence for a bit, just the sounds of a breaths enjoying the warmth of the bed.
"Come on." Gary sits up after a while, pulling me up with him. "Lets get dressed."
Twelve hours later its pitch black outside and im in Marjorie's kitchen helping her with the drinks. We've stopped here Christmas eve and for a big family Christmas dinner. Everyone's been invited, all of my family and of course all of Garys. I walk back into the dinning room and over to Gary, wrapping my arm around his back.
"You alright?" He smiles, stopping his conversation and dropping his arm over my shoulder
"Yea." I smile quietly. "You?"
He grins at me widely, and nods. "The best. Thank you for my present." He drops his lips down onto mine for a brief kiss. "I love it."
I shake my head and laugh. "You're a nightmare to buy for you know?"
"Its perfect." He smiles down at me. "Which reminds me, ive got the rest of yours here, but i need to wait until the right moment to give it to you." Theres a mischievous glint in his eye.
"The rest?" I raise my eyebrows at him. "Why dont i trust you?..."
"No idea Baby." He grins, stepping behind me and smacking my bum.
"Bastard!" I hiss as he walks off to get another drink.
Im talking to Garys sister-in-law when he comes back over and hands me a glass of Baileys.
"Gary i cant drink." I push it back towards him.
"Just one wont hurt." He smirks, "It is Christmas after all."
I shake my head in defeat as i take the glass from him. Most of the guests have gone now, its past eleven.
"Come on." Gary smiles, grasping my elbow gently. "Walk with me a bit?"
I follow him as we wonder over to the far side of the house where no-one has been, Gary unlocks a door and drags me through to what looks like a billiards room.
"I had no idea your Mums house was so big..." I think outloud.
"I bought it for her." Gary grins, shutting the door and turning to stand infront of me. "Im not all bad."
"Hmm," I twist my mouth into a sideways smile, straightening Garys tie. "I suppose not..."
"Told you." He mutters playfully, stepping closer still, running his hands down my back and resting them on my bum, squeezing slightly.
"Its hot in here." I smirk. "Dont you want to take this off?" I run my hands under Garys jacket.
"Maybe..." He whispers, leaning down ad kissing me forcefully on the lips. I run my tongue along his lips and he parts them enough to slip my tongue inside. He mirrors my action, biting down in my bottom lips slightly. I hook my hands into the Garys inside pockets to pull myself closer to him as our tongues continue to taste each others mouths, his hands stay on my bum.
I pull away suddenly. "Whats this?" My voice is hoarse, but that might just be from the kiss.
"Whats what?" Gary furrows his brow.
"This." I wrestle my hand out of Garys inside pocket along with a small, black, velvet box.
"Oh. That." He sighs, loosening his grip on me. "Thats the rest of your present."
I think my heart is breathing at about ten thousand miles per hour as Gary pulls opens the box in my hands. I gasp, louder than i meant to.
"Marry me Libby?" He whispers, i feel his eyes burning into me as i stare that the diamond ring in my hands. "Just say you will. Please? We dont have to do it this year, or next year, or- just when your ready. When we've had the baby and you can feel beautiful, not shit. Cause you are Lib. You're so beautiful. Please, just say yes?"
"Yes." Ive pushed the words out before ive even had chance to think about it, but its true. I do want to marry him. I want to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him because i love him. So, so much.
"Yes?!" Garys eyes light up.
"Yes!" I laugh, throwing my arms around his neck. He pulls away and slips the diamond onto my ring finger before stepping back into my embrace. It fits perfectly, of course.
"I love you." Gary whispers into my hair.
"I love you more." I whisper back, panting a kiss on his jaw bone. Gary pulls away to look at me.
"I think we both know that not possible." He grins, before his lips claim mine once more as he kisses me passionately, one hand at the small of my back and the other in my hair, pulling me closer to him.
I hold the back off his neck with one hand, my other rests on his strong bicep.
"I think this calls for a celebration, dont you?" Gary smirks against my mouth. Before i can stop him, my dress is at my feet...
