(part 2 of the last post)

When I woke up in the morning, I was still practically curled up in her arms. She was warm, and cosy, and her gentle touch was slowly pulling me back into a deep sleep. I buried my head in the crook of her neck, loose strands of her hair tickling my nose before I was asleep again.

It only felt like a few minutes had passed before I was waking up again to the feeling of her fingertips running along my spine underneath my shirt. Then I heard her whisper as I shifted slightly.

"Cmon, angel. Time to get up."

Her voice was slightly raspy from sleep, and I could tell that she hadn't been awake for long.

I hesitated before moving off of her body, sitting up beside her. She sat up too before my head rested on her shoulder.

"I'm still tired." I pouted, moving my hand so that I could hold hers, "Can you stay with me today? Pleaseee."

"I know you're tired, baby." She gently moved my hair out of my face, "And of course I can stay. I'm not going anywhere."

I smiled and let my eyes close again, but before I knew it, she was making sure I was still awake. After a little while of talking, we got up and brushed our teeth, then decided what to have for breakfast.

The day went by quick. We didn't do much, but it was perfect because we were together, and that was all we needed for the day to go well. We pretty much spent the whole day watching tv together, or playing games.

Soon enough, it was getting late again. I wondered if she was planning to stay another night, or if she was going to leave. I didn't want her to go. But then she brought it up.

"It's getting late. I should probably go.. Right?"

My head turned quick so that I was looking at her. My eyes were slightly widened, and my brows furrowed. I didn't know why I was panicking, but I really didn't want her to go. Maybe it was because we spent the night so close to eachother. I needed her to stay. But I didn't want to force her.

"Uh.. Do you maybe want to stay the night again..? It's okay if you don't. Just wondering."

I suddenly felt as if I couldn't go a single night alone. I needed her here with me, whether she was next to me or not, I just needed her in the house with me. It felt like I was suddenly going to start sobbing if she left.

But why did I feel this way? She was my best friend. I'd had no problems with her going home in the past, even when I first started to have feelings for her, I was okay with her going home. But now I felt like I needed her right here. I needed her next to me to feel safe, and happy.

And I didn't even realise it, but tears began to build up in my eyes. And she noticed. Of course.

"I can stay another night. You're about to cry. What's wrong? I'm here. I'm not going anywhere, what's the matter?" She sounded worried. I didn't let the tears fall, I blinked them away.

I didn't even know why I felt like crying. Why I was so emotional. I just needed one more night. I knew this wasn't the last time I was going to see her, I mean, we literally lived five minutes from eachother, but then I realised. I had to tell her how I felt. I couldn't keep it a secret any longer. She needed to know, whether she felt the same way or not.

"I'm uh- I'm okay. I think I need to tell you something."

"Mhm, you can tell me anything. What's on your mind?" She shuffled slightly closer to me, and we were sat face to face.

My heart was racing. Maybe I should just tell her something completely different. I shouldn't say that I like her right? She wouldn't feel the same way. But before I could stop myself, the words were coming out of my mouth.

"I think I like you. Well, I mean, I know I like you. I know this is stupid and I probably should have just kept quiet, but I can't keep this to myself anymore I need you to know. I get it if you don't want to see me anymore. And I'm sorry. I've probably ruined our friendship." I avoided her eyes. I couldn't look at her or I'd have to leave the room. I'd have to get away from it all. But before I even had the chance to regret it, I heard four words slip from her mouth.

"I like you too."

My head snapped up. We were looking at eachother again, eyes wide and our cheeks pink. I wondered if her heart was beating as fast as mine was, or maybe even faster.

"You're being serious?" I didn't know if I could believe her or not. But she didn't laugh. She wasn't smirking. Just a genuine smile.

"Of course I'm being serious, baby. I'm literally in love with you." She laughed, moving to cup my cheeks in her soft hands.

I laughed too. Because how could I have been so clueless? I couldn't help but wonder if she realised I liked her too and just didn't say anything, or if she was clueless too. I probably wasn't great at hiding it.

"So does that mean..? Will you be my girlfriend?" I hesitated again, just in case I was absolutely stupid and misread what she'd said. But how could I have? She said she was in love with me.

"Of course I'll be your girlfriend!!" She laughed again, carefully pulling me into her arms, leaving us cuddled up watching whatever was playing on the tv.

I'd never felt happier. I really could spend every night how I'd previously imagined; wrapped in the comfort of her warmth and love. Finally.
