Chapter Thirty-Six: Ambush

     "Oh, Brittany," Stephanie called from behind as Brittany tried to leave the ring," before you go, there's something that I need to tell you."

Tonight was the first Raw after the Royal Rumble, and what another controversial event it had been. Matches that thrilled, moments that killed, and people that changed the course of history in just one night. Everyone's focus had been on the thirty man battle royal, which was less than short of spectacular. Old faces such as Rob Van Damn, Bubba and Devon Dudley, Carlito, Chavo Guerrero, and Hardcore Holly reappeared, but sadly didn't get very far. In the end, it was no surprise that the winner of the match was Kevin Owens. Sadly, his victory celebration did not last for long for Cesaro, whom had lost to Roman Reigns (he won the match between him, Cesaro and Dean. Don't worry) earlier in the night, gave him a few torn ligaments.

Dean Ambrose had not lost very easily last night. He had fought valiantly, nearly scoring a pin over Cesaro. But just as it had been planned, Roman took out his best friend, leaving him lying in a heap at ringside. It wasn't the easiest thing to watch. Everyone had been in outrage all day long, not believing that Roman had turned heel. Although he was battered and bruised, he didn't mind the fact that he had lost. He loved to fight; it was all part of the job.

He was also teeming with excitement. Tomorrow would make two months since he and Brittany officially began to date. Dean was surprised that they had made it this far, but he had never lost faith. Of course, they had already had an argument, one that literally almost made him give up completely. But after the two calmed down and came to their senses, they apologized. Dean knew that no relationship was perfect. 

"Never lay a hand on me again, Stephanie," she warned, pushing one half of the Authority down to the mat. Stephanie did not move. She remained motionless, glaring at Brittany with much hatred glowing in her malicious eyes. Michael Cole and JBL speculated as to what was going to happen next as the cameras switched over to a marque advertisement for the main event that night which featured Dean against a freshly turned-heel John Morrison. 

Sighing, he turned to look at Roman. The Samoan was looking at the screen, frowning as he did.

"I don't like this, man," he announced.

"Nobody likes Arby's," Dean said, leaning back into his chair.

Roman shook his head. "I know that, but that's not what I am talking about. I don't like the way that Stephanie stared at Brittany before they went to commercial. It was so evil.

Dean had noticed that, but he didn't really want to linger on it. Just the mere thought of Brittany being beaten up again made him sick to his stomach. He would be quite relieved whenever the feud would come to an end. It did make for good material, but Dean just couldn't stand the idea of his girlfriend being in danger all of the time.

"I'm hoping that nothing will happen. I want to get out of here as soon as possible tonight."

"And don't you think that it's a little weird that your match has to be over by 10:50?" Roman is onto something, Dean realized.

Swallowing the last bit of the almond nuts that were in his hand, something inside of Dean's mind clicked. It was weird that his match with John Morrison was due to end at 10:50. After the match was over, all Dean had to do was walk to the back, pack his bags and head off to the next town. But now that he had time to mull things over, he realized that Stephanie was planning to exact her revenge on Brittany before the end of the show. 

"She's going to attack her tonight."

"Look," Roman stood up, strapping on his gloves,"I have to go and prepare to deliver my explanation on why I "turned heel" last night. As soon as your match is over, I'll try to keep Stephanie away from the employee parking lot, alright? You have nothing to worry about, my brother."
