I put Keyanna's mama's stuff, and my mama's luggage in the back. My mama sat in the back with Arielle and I knew she did it on purpose.
We were on the highway and the only thing speaking was Arielle and my mama.
Keyanna's moms seems like she's in a good mood because she sent me a smile and greeted me with a hug. So, so far so good.
My music played swiftly in the back ground and I just layed my head to the side of my window.
"Mhm I like this song." She complimented while chewing on her food.
I let out a smirk.
"Is this your song?" She questioned me.
I simply nodded sitting up.
"Well go on and put the volume up" She ordered enjoying it. I obeyed
"All I do is grindd,.. All I do is grinddd and Pray grinding through the street all day ahhh" She sang through the verse and then the song switched to Get ya money.
"Hey I was really feelin' this song. Where'd it go" She complained
"It's two songs smashed together." I explained
"Oh so It's in actual song?" She asked
I nodded.
"You're a very talented singer"
All this shit caught me off gaurd because the shit that happened previously made me have other thoughts about her.
"Thank you" I said
"Oh, no problem, what's the name of the song that played ?" She asked
"Grind & pray" I replied
She pulled her phone out setting her food aside.
"I found it!" She exclaimed
"It's on iTunes--"
"Oh hush child. I'm not that old. I don't need to spend a $1.29 to get some song."
I frowned feeling offended.
"I got it for free"
She showed me the song on her phone.
"See, just used 4G WiFi and downloaded it on the internet. In a quick second" She seemed proud of her accomplishments.
I let out a little a chuckle and got out one of the exist.
"August, I wanna apologize for my actions the other time I was down hea'. It was completely rude and unnecessary of me." I nodded but she continued " I do not know why I acted that way and I totally hope you could accept my apology. Especially for all those years I've been disrespectful towards you."
"I really wasn't feelin' all that disrespectfulness , and excuse me for my language, but all that shit you did to me was really unnecessary. You actually made it hard for me when I was dating Keyanna back when we were in high school." I confessed
" I know August, but how would it feel if your daughter went behind your back and got herself a boyfriend that you did not know of?" She questioned me "I agree with you I would have been upset"
"So you understand why I acted that way?" I nodded "Definitely, but the shit you did I don't. Calling the school and forcing to move her to a different class and trying to switch her lunch group, no. That was definitely out of proportion--"
"Well I'm sorry I was trying to prevent my daughter from becoming just like her other two sister's" She said. I could tell she was starting to get angry with me.
